Sega Rally: "Game over Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" tongue.gif

Whats with it? Haha. It's been my inspiration the whole time wink.gif.

My favorite system of all time was the Sega Saturn because it houses all the games I grew up with. Sega Rally, Daytona USA, ect. The reason the Celica (namely the Castrol) one had such a large draw to me was because of Sega Rally. It was then that I also became interested in rally racing.

To not put the Sega logos up there would be a crime wink.gif haha.

Funny side note. I almost sacrificed one of the sega logos to put the S in front of my liscense plate, which I think would accurately sum up my opinion of the car.
The "Prepared by Toyota Team Europe" stickers on the doors

shouldnt they say

"Powered By Toyota Team Europe"???

Otherwise...looking good...you cant beat a Castrol Celica

I've seen some that say prepared, some that say powered, some that just say Toyota Team Europe... and then some that simply don't have a graphic there.

The designs seem to change per car, and pretty drastically. Even the swooshes are completely different. If you look at the logos used for Castrol even, there are different ones for different cars. Some have the red only Castrol logo over the tire in the front, while others have the red and green box version.

I'm actually kinda curious to see how many types of Castrol Celicas were made. I've even seen ones with other "main" sponsors on them.

Anywho, if you look closely, I've changed a lot more than that anyway because it fits better on this model Celica, or I just found it more aesthetically pleasing. I figure if every Castrol car had big differences, why not carry that on with mine too wink.gif.
wow its really looking great bro, thinking about a meet in southern ohio or indiania, somewhere around here, putting up a forum in the meet section you should check it out bro, but im loving the car it has really come a long way, i get my riser blocks and fogs later this week, and then hopefully my jdm tails next week if i can win this battle on ebay ha ha

She looks STUNNING!

I think this has been my favorite build thread by far. The dedication to accuracy and your persistence are enviable. Keep up the work...it's great!

Has no more Celicas
Thanks guys, that means a lot to me smile.gif. It's slightly custom since I don't have a GT-4 and what not, but at the same time, I'm really trying to do the car justice. Even when the car is "decorated" I still have so much more planned for it. Then again, I don't think anyone's project is really done, is it? smile.gif

Per the big meet (giggle), I'd be down with that for sure. I travel all across Ohio anyway for my volunteering, so southern Ohio or Indiana would be do able for sure. Best of luck on getting those parts btw smile.gif.

Yea...I think I drew a similar conclusion...there are hundreds of different versions.....I have done the same as you for my corolla.....taken my favourite bits from each design and made up a unique one that suited my taste and the look of the car best.

The Malboro Celicas look cool...stunning in fact, but would require painting as well as stickers to pull off the look.....

I`ve spent many months...if not years researching TTE Celicas...I get the feeling that after every graphics design they started again with a new one for every rally...really annoying when you want to accurately replicate a kit, also there are many non genuine castrol designs about which might be misleading.

Anyway...yours looks very cool...I like it alot

Wow, I generally can't stand the look of any car with the abundance of decals on them, but I really like this Celica. The replication is top-notch. Nice detail work, man, it looks stunning! biggrin.gif

Thanks guys!

Yes, the spoiler blocks and new spoiler are painted. It would have been on tonight, but my bolts weren't long enough. They'll be on tomorrow. I'll have pictures tomorrow or Wednesday morning of it truly completed (with the spoiler)....BUT

As promised, the car is finally done with it's graphics. It's been a really hard, long... annoying.........costly road, but it feels like SUCH a pay off now.

Here it is:

Ok! Thanks for looking hope you all enjoyed.

Ok I'm kidding. Here are the rest:

Haha, yes. yes it is wink.gif
Also, still waiting on the red mudflaps wink.gif. But yea.. I don't really care about those so much right now... wink.gif wonder why haha.
Looks awesome!

Now that you have experience you can come do it to mine haha, I wonder if the novelty would wear off though?? I suspect some people would think it's the real deal (ex-rally car) and try to race it all the time.

PS. I want red mudflaps frown.gif

People already tried to race it all the time when the decals weren't even on wink.gif. I'll give them the same response I always do. Nothing. I did this for me, not "street cred" lol.

Yea, the red mudflaps are insane in price ($5-600!!!). I feel I did very well at about $75. laugh.gif As far as the decals go, I'd of course help you.. but you're a bit of distance away from me wink.gif.

are you gonna do the headlight stuff??

Nope. First off, my red swooshes weren't the right shape (you could tell this as the guy who made the decals, his examples looked like mine, not the car pictured above), and I need my brights to be operational. Besides, the green you see in the brights is actually ontop of an uncut part of the bumper where the lights would have been. Since mine are obviously cut out, it wouldn't look right.

Like I said before, I'm not going for supreme accuracy here, but I'm just doing something that works for my car with the materials I have, that does justice to the car I idolize wink.gif.
it still looks good, i was j/w. I did notice your red squigglys wouldnt line up ... but i didnt notice the bumper was uncut til you just mentioned that.

Yea, trust me.. I've looked over this damn rally car to the point I'm almost sick of it HAHA. I noticed that they didn't cut out the bright light holes a while back, and figured that's why my decal kit didn't come with green bright stickers... simply because it wouldn't be able to be applied smile.gif. And no worries, I know you were just curious bud. Trust me, there are things about the car that I know aren't quite right.. or about certain decals that we didn't lay perfectly..but considering I had no previous knowledge about how to do any of this, I'm amazed it's come along as well as it has. Haha, trust me.. I've never claimed I'm a pro at this, and I know someone can do better than me. I'm just proud that I used to be a typical car owner who didn't know how to do much more than change oil and fix a flat tire, to someone who knows how to take a good chunk of this car apart and put it back together. tongue.gif

Honestly, I have always hated cars with stickers, labels, vinyls, etc. I'm all about cleanliness. But I would be lying to you if I said I didn't think your Celica turned up to look beautiful. biggrin.gif Oh, in the driver's name, I would put "Rick Astley". laugh.gif

Spoiler is on! Man that was not fun...

The spoiler really makes the car though, just as it did before. Without it, the car looks quite dull.

how did you do it? i had not seen pics, what i did is insert long screws and use that super glue like cement, cannot remember the name....

My holes were too big in the spoiler itself, so I had to use those clip on nuts to make new holes. I simply screwed on the 4 bolts extremely tightly, then bolted the other 4 bolts to attach it to the car. No glue required wink.gif.

Pics soon smile.gif
Spoiler is on. Just need to let the paint cure till I can do the last Castrol logo on the spoiler.. but for now, pure awesome:

Cool....VERY nice....you just need the swooshes for the trunk lid to finish off the rear end a bit more....I`d also paint the number plate surround black smile.gif but thats down to personal taste.

I just can't wait for those mudflaps to come in haha.
