I got them online, but he doesn't do anything custom.. it's just the Castrol logos. They're expensive. It was, with shipping, over $350 I think. However, you can go to most body shop places, show them what you want, and they can make custom ones for you. I like your idea a lot and I think it could be really cool. Btw, shoot me a PM sometime about the rallyx stuff.

If you want, I have a chart of all my logos (well.. most), where they are in relation to the car, and what they look like if that would help you. I'll have to find a way to scan it, but it would help if you took that to a graphics guy and just said you wanted that but in black. The only things missing from the chart are the graphics on the front bumper, rear bumper, and the roll call on the side of the door (all of which I can tell you what they are, and their sizes)... I'll have to take another look at it to double check though.

Btw, nice avatar. I love deadmou5.

Go to www.skewer.co.uk and talk to Mook...he`ll do anything you want with spot on accuracy with the graphics...quality is second to non with non of the usual mistakes that graphics companies make when puting together Castrol sticker kits

I doubt it. I tried to get specific parts of the Castrol kit from him before and he couldn't do it. I doubt he'd do the kit in black then, but an email will never hurt.

I know Mook...he has just made me a specific one off kit without question.......I have seen the Castrol kit in black, silver, white etc all from Skewer so I know it can be done.

Lol ok, well then he doesn't like me then haha.

Anywho, got some fun updates. I'll be getting some fog light covers from Vincent here to cover the two non-fog filled holes in my bumper. Also, I'll be getting that set of GT-Four stickers I needed.

Mudflaps should be in.. well I hope.. any day now. I'll be sure to post pics as soon as they come in.
I`ll give him a kick for you and tell him to stop being so mean smile.gif

Ok guys, I have some updates. First off, I'd like to thank Aerl, Kyle and Ben for their help with my speakers. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have my Apline speakers in.

Now.. I have one simple rule.

ALWAYS BELIEVE RUDE BEST BUY EMPLOYEES...but don't pay their prices.

Long story short, we weren't able to get the new head stereo unit in because we didn't have the appropriate wiring harness. We bought two, and each seemed wrong. One fit the stereo but plugged into an amp which we thought didn't exist, and the other had the ends we thought we needed but didn't fit the stereo.

So today, I decide to look at the car with fresh eyes. I take off the trim and look at what we thought was the ECU yesterday, and realized the only batch of wires coming in OR out was the very wiring harness we were looking for. Yes.... this was an amp. READING ALSO HELPS! haha. The ECU can be spotted about 2 feet deeper in the car's dash.

SO, I got the wire I once bought after returning another I had bought, and started hooking up the new stereo. Here is my progress at that point. The stereo works:

Now, I have a deeper problem. The trim still doesn't fit. I use a dremel and a drum sanding bit and make the hole a bit larger and make the rounded corners in the top area more angular to fit the new head unit. I put velcro on the underside and topside of the stereo to block out any dash LED light that could come through, and test fitted it. It still didn't go through. After looking at it over and over, I realized that these little tabs on the side of the head unit were catching on the trim. I dremeled these off, and walla, it fit! I put the trim back on the car and everything fit. I took a piece of spare black ABS plastic that I had from a previous costume in a volunteer group I'm apart of (the 501st) and trimmed it to fit the hole under the head unit. It's now glued to the back of the trim. I did this because the old bin didn't fit.

I took the stereo back out, and fit the GPS antenna in the car near the top of the dash for the best signal. It's not strong enough to work from under a garage, but once you pull out, it works... which is awesome biggrin.gif. Free GPS! Woot!

The DVD player function works as does the radio.... now for the auxiliary wire for the iPhone/iPod support. My kit came with two chords and I tried the first. I soon realized that I only got sound on the left side of my car. I looked at the other chord and saw it had two ridges (for stereo).. and the one coming out of my car... had one (mono sound).

Sigh.....

I took off the trim .. again.. and put the new chord in. I re-taped the excess chord together with electrical tape and put the trim back on. NOW everything works, with stereo sound biggrin.gif. Btw, in case you didn't see what I did, the auxiliary chord is coming from the stereo through the little storage bin in the dash. I drilled the hole in the top of the holder so the wire wouldn't want to fall out and so you couldn't see light come in from the LEDs behind the dash. I rewired everything and turned the car on... smoke started coming from the dash.. but not the stereo (whew!). It was fortunately only the cigarette lighter. It seemed the filament shifted and started burning against the side of the lighter wall. I threw this away, counted my blessings, and put the trim back on with everything functional now smile.gif.

I'm left with this!:

Very very nice man. What was the trouble you had with your speakers, I'm guessing the mounting adapters? Mine were pretty easy to do. Which Alpines do you have?

Yep, I needed help installing the speakers (as I had never done that before) and if it wasn't for Aerl, wouldn't have had the home made speaker mounts in the front done. He ingeniously made them from sheet metal. The sheet metal mounts to the speaker mounts and the speaker mounts to the sheet metal. Walla! It works very well.

I'll have to take a video tomorrow. I'll show you guys what the DVD player looks like smile.gif.
Well, I hadn't done speakers before either. Then again, I bought them from Crutchfield so I had instructions, and also mounting adapters. Good stuff though.

They're red rally ones from Britain with "celica" in white on each one.
those look like 7th gen GTS wheels. did you powder coat them or paint?

That's good to hear you got a new antenna. You'll like it a lot more.

Power is easy. I have a power inverter that will power through the cigarette lighter. Actually, if you've ever seen the Saturn on a TV screen, having it on a smaller screen will probably make the resolution look a lot nicer, not worse haha. It'll work, trust me. You don't need to see as much to play Sega Rally than you would to play a game like Call of Duty or something. Trust me, it'll work wink.gif. I just need to come up with a clean way to mount this. I was thinking of putting it in the trunk, mount it on the plywood spare tire door, and then extra long cables for the power, av cords, and controller and run them under the carpet of the car.

I know, it sounds like overkill. But it'd be awesome.
got an idea, put it in the glove box or under the kick pannel

Here's my issue. I want to be able to run the AV cord to the auxiliary cord, and run the power cord to the car lighter in a tasteful way. I can'd do it behind the dash though as I need to be able to disconnect the wire so that I can use it for my iPhone's music. See my dilemma? I'm afraid if I do the glovebox, the chords would just hang from the glovebox to the center console and that would look pretty crummy.

Any ideas on how that could work?
I understand your problem with the dash, but don't mount it in the trunk...then it'll just turn into dope-balla-subbed up-neawwn trunk status. Not good on a Celica.

I say mount it between the rear seats and center console, over the 'hump.' Make an enclosure of some kind, mount the console under one of the seats, and mount the screen over the aforementioned hump. That way you also have a playing seat. If you could make some kind of swivel mount...it would be even more awesome. Access from all four seats.

Have you even bothered paying attention to the last couple pages? laugh.gif I don't think the screen will be in the back seat.
Also, I have no idea what you were trying to say about the trunk, but if i THINK I'm understanding you.. it's not going to become some ricey sub woofer crowded trunk. Think of what I'm saying as more like a trunk mounted CD player. Visualize it? There ya go...

No worries lol, I didn't. Glad you like how it's turned out so far.
