Test fit! Lines up quite well. As for the rubber seal that goes between the bumper and hood....how are you guys modifying yours to make it not look ridiculous? Or is there anyone on here with the seal and metal slip cover that goes over the bumper lip that is willing to sell theirs?

A lot of progress has been made! The hood and bumper are nearly paint worthy! I've also got a few items that are on the way. My car had to be sent back to the body shop from previous repairs made in March, but I'm finally getting back on track.

If anyone would like the CURRENT Toyota part numbers for the items I've ordered LMK. I will post them, and hopefully benefit another 6gc'er.

Items on order include: Complete Engine Overhaul Gasket Kit (I will source the part numbers to these items if needed), Timing Belt, Water Pump Assy, Oil Pump Assy, Wiseco Pistons 86.5mm, Eagle H-Beam Rods w/ ARP Rod Bolts, ARP Main Studs, ARP Head Studs, 2nd Gen Plug Wires, Distributor Cap, Distributor Rotor, Hydraulic Timing Belt Tensioner, and ACL Bearings.

Engine Block is currently at machine shop being hot tanked and new freeze plugs installed. Will provide pic's when I can.

good progress my dude! cant wait to see some pics

as for the GT4 hood, it doesnt line up to the stock bumper properly. the GT4 hood has different lines in and shape the the stock bumper, some caqrs can pull it off quite well with a good exterior setup wink.gif cant wait to see the progress!

Been looking around today at different Manual Boost Controllers. Any body on this site ever use the "Grimmspeed" brand? Seems like a decent unit, and has a reasonable price.

Thoughts?

this is part of the anti-lag system, like the pipes on the ex-maifold and the 3way valve between intercooler and BOV,
but just for homologation purpose in your car

(except the bigger blue VSV, this is the OEM boost controll selenoid)

Just got a call from the machine shop. The block has been cleaned, and new freeze plugs installed. The guy also mentioned that the block was warped between .002 and .003. That's not a lot of warpage, but I want it perfect. Right now I'm waiting on pistons, clutch, bearings, and ARP hardware. Then I get to bring all the goodies up to the machine shop, and the real work begins!
Good shiz Ben!

Good to hear everything is coming along nicely, even with the warpage on the block, and that your progress is still going well.

Im looking forward to it Brian. She's gonna be MEAN!
Your engine is garbage.

Na j/k, hurry up and start building it gosh. I am a little surprised it was warped 2 to 3 thou though.
Shouldn't be too bad. That's only the width of a dog hair.
Clutch Arrived! Pistons, Rods, Bearings, and Studs are delayed until Tuesday.

Dropped the head off at the machine shop today to be pressure tested, cleaned, and 5 angle valve job. Got a sneak peek at my block while I was there. The new freeze plugs have been installed, and the block has been hot tanked.

Looking Good. Especially love the Toyota logo looking clean and proper.

Yesterday morning I barely tripped over all the parts in front of my door. So I went ahead and took a picture for you guys, but all parts have been taken to the machine shop. The head has already been cleaned, and a valve job performed. I'll get pics when I get it back. I should have the whole assembly back in the next week or so, and the build begins!

win.

I appreciate the blessings! Hopefully I don't run into too many gremlins along the way! Still gotta get this damn wiring harness figured out!!! frown.gif
This may be a bit of a picture overload for some of you, but I like car porn, which means I like to give copious amounts of car porn. Here you go. This is the prep, and priming of my gt4 front end conversion bits.

Don't be stupid! Either protect yourself or you'll risk respiratory illness.

If you are going to attempt this you need one of these! I built mind out of drop cloth (plastic), tarp as a floor, a 4x8 piece of plywood, a beach tent, and clamps.

These pictures are from the finish of the body work on this bumper (ready for primer)

Final product. If you plan to paint something USE A RESPIRATOR, GOGGLES, AND A VAPOR MASK!!!

Final prep on the bottom of the hood. I didn't go nuts here I just roughed it up because not many people will see it, and it doesn't make a difference to me.

Final cleaning for the hood (soap and water). All the different colors are due to etch primer, rage gold, and original paint and primer.

In the booth.

Final product. Kind of hard to respect it in these pictures, but it came out great!
I like the way you went all out and constructed a paint booth. Finished paint always reflects the amount of effort put in so I have no doubt your panels are gonna look great. I hope to do something similar to this one day.
It's absolutely critical, and worth the time. You're absolutely right. What you put in, you get out. Never get tired of the pre-work because it makes or breaks the product.
Looks great man, nice and straight. I expect a flawless paint job. DONT FUDGE UP!
At this point I'd kick myself in the head if I screwed up. I have a few ideas for fitment as well. Going to try to make a custom crash bar with intercooler mounts.
MOAR!

Definitely doing it right buddy. The prep work looks stellar and I can't wait to see the front end after paint. thumbsup.gif
