They're really not that bad. Doing the timing belt kind of sucks but it's RWD so there's more room than a Celica to work with. They have a little more suspension going on up front with double wishbone and the upper ball joints tend to wear out around 90-100K (and the lowers not long after) but again, not hard parts to replace just can be costly for the uppers since the joint is part of the arm.

Just from doing alignments on them, you think that for the money you spent on that car it should have adjustments for front camber/caster & rear camber, not just front & rear toe. They make you buy offset bushings (from Lexus) if caster needs adjustment. Unless I got my Lexus suspensions mixed up, call me dumb.
Well unless the suspension is sagged or badly worn or the car has been hit then caster should still be about where caster was when it left the factory.

The car takes 8 QTS of oil each change, but other than that, I really have no complaints.

The car is still badged Toyota in Japan, so if things go out, I can buy Toyota replacements, not Lexu$$$$$.

I LOVE it for a daily. It's super comfortable, and I'm doing my best not to modify it.

Over night ALL THE PARTS FROM JAPAN, bruh!
If those are the original HID bulbs in that thing they're way past worn out and about as bright as halogen. RockAuto usually has some HID bulbs on stupidly low priced closeout, like $30 a bulb for genuine stuff not Chinese crap.

I witnessed a portion of the resurrection. Much work was indeed done. only a little to go
lol

Thanks for being a witness to it Luke. I'm not sure they would've believed me otherwise... I've been moving so damn slow on this thing.

~bloodMoney
you're probably moving slow because you've got the 5s in there still instead of a 3sgte. right? right??!

I'd be moving slower if it had a 7a I guess...

He did pretty much open the door on that one. tongue.gif A race between you and Norberto would be interesting once both cars are finished up, we can call it something like "Topless at the Strip" or maybe someone can think of a more clever innuendo.

my car is getting profesionally painted this year. Im tired of painting like crap.

I will sell soon my gig to mount the 2gr. just the crappy jig. Maybe that will spark his interest..

ill slap a baffled oil pain and my car will be a racer.

A crappy jig is all I need.

From there I can make a 3D model of it and have a new one machined out of billet. (I actually have something you might be interested in, in the works... Stacy's car will be the test bed for it though)

I'm just so lost on what I want to do. It's part of what I have no motivation to finish this stupid thing.

That's understandable, it's one of those things you can sit and think about it near 24/7 for weeks and be no closer to deciding than what you were in the beginning. Only thing I can tell you that might help is to think of what it'd take to make you nearly 100% happy with the car and how feasible it is for you to reach that destination. Sometimes it helps writing things down or talking them out with someone.

Of course I'm the king of indecision, so what do I know. tongue.gif

Still have a bunch of little things to do, but it's waterproof and it moves under it's own power....

And I'm planning on selling it. Just in case anyone is interested.

Not to question anyone's loading and unloading methods, but I don't think that'll buff out.
