I agree. Though I don't hate on the car, I think it's beautiful and I love both Subaru and Toyota, I drive both. Hell, my fastest car and the one I've put the most time and energy into is my Subaru, but I would in no way buy an FR-S because of my deep love of Toyota and their engineering. It's a Subaru as far as I'm concerned.
Yes, this reminds me of the whole Mitsu/Daimler deal in the late 80's to late 90's. There are a handful of cars that Mitsu designed 90 - 95% of for Daimler. Not that I'm a DSM fan in ANY way

Who cares what it is branded as. They're the same car and the FR-S costs less. Is it a Toyota? No... but who cares. This loyalist crap for a car company who doesn't care about you is stupid. They make a car by whatever means will net them the most money. In this case Toyota decided that was punting it to Subaru.

Wow ... I think people aren't getting what I'm saying. I was AGREEING that there will be haters and that it is unwarranted. I was saying that I'm smart enough that I would never buy and FR-S/BZ-R/GT86 out of love for Toyota because it's not one and people need to realize that and stop hating on it. It's still an incredible car and designed very well IMHO and should be loved for that reason, or if your into Subaru's.
Am I disappointed that Toyota had little to do with the first sports car that has held one of their (or pseudonym) moniker's in over a decade (excluding the SC/Soarer)? Sure I am ... I'm really looking forward to the next Toyota designed sports car as much as the next enthusiast. But this car is still a beautiful piece of work. Not hating on it in anyway or form. When I was saying I wouldn't buy it "because of my deep love of Toyota and their engineering" I meant that wouldn't be the REASON I'd buy it. If I were to buy one, it's because I also love Subaru and believe that they are almost as brilliant engineers.

Got home from work yesterday and packed up the trunk to head out to my parent's house where I typically do my car work:
And because I got there late I have no in-process pictures. I got it all installed last night and spent this morning tweaking ride height. Sitting at 25" from wheel arch to ground in the rear and 24.5" in the front. These KW's are fantastic though. To adjust ride height you just jack up the front or back, slide under the car and unlock the set screw on the perch and spin it. Wish my MR2's coils were that easy to adjust. These are set more on the stiff side right now and it rides just a touch more firm than stock. Super comfortable.
Front:
Compression - 7 clicks back from full stiff
Rebound - 10 clicks back from full stiff
Rear:
Compression - 8 clicks back from full stiff
Rebound - 7 clicks back from full stuff
