Hi,

here we have the damapde radiator

overview

here we see good clasps

here one that leak soon

and here one that is damaged

i think the age is the reason

i now have a masterplan for the upgrade IC and a alu-welder so i just need a radiator core and we can start the job

unfortunetely i can't can tell you the exact setup for now, i also have to
learn by doing so after the build i can tell you

is there any special question you have i can possible answer yet?

here the story why i stock the parts

- a gen.3 cover do not have the COP mountings, a gen.4 cover have them but in front of the side mounted manifold there is no space for the TB when using
a center feed manifold, a gen.4 intake manifold is also higher -> so this is why i decided to buy a gen.5 cover as i use a gen.3 manifold with the ready mounted
water injection valve, and i will use the TTE intercooler also on the new engine

- the gen.5 TH was cheap and do not use the idle controll valve -> i possible go with a haltech valve -> so the setup should be more professional

Hi,

today i received the upgrade intercooler front radiator, now i just have to weld mountings on him and build a air channel, it is a 3row 2flow one with 50mm depth against, 38mm 2row 2flow of the OEM one

if everthing goes right i become my car ready next week 8)

It shocks me that this is probably one of the best performance builds we have EVER had on this site, but yet no one seems to really post and show interest. Really shows the mentality of the members on this site.

Anyway this is breathtaking build and this will be one of the meanest best all around built gt4s on this site when its done! Good luck man and I'm subscribed to this thread thumbsup.gif
Hi,

omg, thanks for your compliment smile.gif

correct, my OEM unit began to drain water so i deciced to go with a custom radiator without clasps that can go wrong, one row more to get more cooling and more water in the system.
all in all i hope to win especially the new pre rad should fit the TTE intercooler better, and i also hope for a lower start ampere consumption of the water pump as the new radiator should
lower the backpressure, now it goes up to nearly 30A at start up which is really the maximum for relays, fuses and wires, the reason for that is the TTE intercooler with his different radiator core

i hope i doesn't write to much biggrin.gif

Hi,

the project is on the road again, the upgrade IC + shroud is mounted

the water becomes a little warm but after all i doesn't have a infrared temp.meter but possible i can get one

I kept the standard W2A intercooler setup, from what everyone on this site says, is the best setup.

However at a recent GT4 meet I found all the guys who have changed to a regular FMIC all say there is no loss in the low end and major gains from the mid range up.

I was actually shocked when I looked at mine how restricted it is inside there to be honest, I'm thinking maybe a frozenboost item may be the way to go?

Hi,

unfortunetly i'am not really using a standart setup
- jabsco 80L/h pump
- TTE group a spec intercooler
- and now the new front radiator

your WTA intercooler is restricted? or your air to air?
what is a frozenboost item? -> liquid nitrogen or ice cubes? -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJR62vsAg-0 biggrin.gif

Hi,

small subjective report, the performance is constant up to the may rpm. like a cool day in spring or fall

but nothing is for free, i have ~5°C higher oil temp. against the oem pre-rad, so the oil can raise up to ~100°C whe i drive hard

looks like the next mod will be a street under panel, to get more air out of the engine bay

Hi,

more parts,

headstuds & spark plugs
Denso IK01-24

HKS 1,2mm headgasket

ATS Spec2, 1 plate carbon clutch, 1900kg plate, max.500PS

the next is to adjust camber & toe on both front and back wheels, i'am in need to cut the old bolts and to polybush the arms frown.gif smile.gif

Hi,

thanks, me too i also want to see it finished, it could be hard but in front of some personal changes i changed from a long time step by step build to a target time project
which is (late) summer 2012. we will see there is a lot of parts buying, development and building left.....

Damn... fingers crossed mate. I know it is not easy to hold big project and finish it on time.

Hi Martin,

thanks thumbsup.gif
oh yes, i think you can tell us a story, but the most important think is that i will be a good finish

KEEP COOL UNDER PRESSURE
Hi,

some things are done, i bought a cheap used TRD gauge cluster surrounding becouse a little bit bling bling is allowed

one of my targets for this year was to adjust the rear suspension but after 16year no toe adjusting was possible any more so i deciced to buy a set of pu-bushings, worked out the whohle arm and pressed in ne new ones, for that you have to dismount the longitude arm, the problem was the bolt when i opened him the whole bolt with the buching turns which means i destroyed it so i also had to pu-bush it but i doesn't want to dismount everything so i build a tool for that work

it works perfect and when it becomes to strong just heat it a little bit, but just to press the old one out

Hi,

small update

a modified underpanel with the target to raise the air flow trough the radiators and the engine bay

a small plate to protect the gearbox radiator connectors

tomorrow i will mount a fire-extinguisher, and then it is enough for this year

One of the best build threads out here. Impressive. 400whp? haha
Hi,

thanks, 400whp could be hard to arrive in front of the 4WD and his drivetrain loses, but i'll give my best to get the maximum out

haha by the looks of it you are definitely trying to get everything out of it that's for sure. keep it up!
