Topic #69846 46 posts Started by schmooot
OMG I just took delivery last night. I'm so essited! I'm assuming its the wrc because of the exhaust shield adn the riser on the wing but can canyone confirm this? I'm new to 6th gens I owned a 4th gen for the last 7 years, so I plan on diving headfirst into the game

I still need to get an out of province inspection because it came from Calgary, but it did have a day permit on it so I definitely drove it like I stole it for a couple hours.

Yup that looks like the WRC because of the heat shield
The riser block isn’t so much of an indication for WRC but for the GT-four.
It also looks like you are missing a hood spoiler that’s unique to the WRC. Very excited for you!
Black looks awesome!
yah I was wondering about the hood spoiler but I didn't really know what I was looking for

I believe if there is hood spoiler than it might be. W/O it is not. Hood spoiler is one of signs of WRC edition models.

Its a WRC easiest way to tell is by looking at the intercooler as pictured
only wrc's came with that.
The heatshild is a good way as well and of course the roof spoiler but you gotta hope that wasnt added on later.

^^its the antilag valve^^

there is a hose that goes from that to the stock bov on the airbox, and it connects at the bottom to the hoses that go to the piping on the manifold.

congrats on getting the real thing man.

Wow nice find and grats on owning the real thing thumbsup.gif. As for the rims I personally think they could have potential. Im a fan of the O.Z. Superturismos myself laugh.gif
Rims would probably be nice...the color definitely works under black.

I bought my ST205 from those guys too. Thats my 1993 GT4 in the back ground. Congrats. I think the one you got has TRD supention with slotted front disks? They had two black ones for sale. Very nice ride wink.gif

I don't know about the suspension...it is green...and yes the front discs are slotted. The suspension seems really stiff, you can really feel the bumps in the road and potholes....I thought maybe something was wrong or worn but I haven't had a chance to get under there. Maybe you are right and it is something new and stiffer?

green is tein usuall, i think some trd's were green also.

The wing is no way to tell whats a WRC/Group A and what isnt, just look at half the cars on here, all fwd, most NA and they have the riser blocks.

the WRC/Group A got things like: anti lag, water injection (the parts are there but the ecu doesnt run them) intercooler spray bar, bonnet spoiler (most have this, its there to reduce bonnet flex at high speed). Some say they had extra welding points over the non grp A/WRC but its not confirmed.

They didnt make any more power then the non group A/WRC so technically they are probably a tiny bit slower because of the small ammount of extra weight, but are more sort after because of rarity...and who doesnt want to say their car came with anti lag stock, hehe.

yea I got some green ones on mine too. Guessing Tein from what everyone else is saying. And yea my ride is super stiff as well, I don't know if the stock ones are much better either since my old ST202 was pretty bad as well. I'm guessing adjustable coil overs are the only way to make it comfortable.
guess I'll have to look closer and see if there is a brand stamped on the struts somewhere.

ANd yah it is definitely the wrc. Its impossible to look at everything because its parked in the shop at work until I pass my inspection and I obviously can't just crawl around underneath it when I'm supposed to be working

They are not teins the are trd with 4 point adjustable damping. Pop of the rubber grommets and you will see the adjustment. I was going to swap them with my stock ones and decided to much work. Here is a link http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/TRD-Shock-...per-Strut-53620. I talked to them yesterday and they said it was not a wrc. But it sure dose look like one.
