Topic #69447 100 posts Started by yellowchinaman
Just a peak into the prototype which was mocked up for test fitting.
There will be some minor changes such as fixings, a few mm positionings to correct, finish in colour, polish and paint.
More information is in the Celica-club.co.uk.

Main key pints abut this design:
Universal for GT4 and non GT4 with it's modified horizantal bar being 5mm lower so NA's can shut their hoods.
Horizontal bar being centralised between the top mounts for strogest point of support
Entire structure being 10% thicker compared to other current brands in the market
Made from AL6063 ,AL5052
Colour will be gun metal and silver.

Correction from this:

Release date: Coming soon.

Hi All
Thanks for showing interest.
At the moment the price is yet to be confirmed however we estimate the retail web price no more then £200 per unit.
We do plan on making a rear 3 point strut brace which is under development but that wont be ready untill another few months time.
If your wandering what the finish will look like, try imagining it the same colours as this:

Over in the UK the cheapest we can get a 3 point strut brace is the TRD one which is £270 plus postage. The standard 2 point strut brace add on is around £140 second hand.
Our one is a modified version of the TRD and cusco and uprated with a few corrections. Also the two piller beams are adjustable so you can set the stiffness against the fire wall. Something which is not offered on any other makes.
let us know if the price drops,

Learned a lot in 10 years...I hardly log in anymore, last loginToday Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOLIf you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. Im alive, better post your questions in the thread below, maybe I log back in2grfe Swapped...Why I chose the 2GR, before you ask read here...A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.@llamaraxing in Instagram is the best way to find me. We’ve now developed and produced a prototype of 3 point strut brace for Gen 6 Celica. It consists of non-adjustable cross bar and adjustable side-to-center rods. These expand creating “stiffness” and then are fixed with 22mm nuts. I've fitted and tested it yesterday and I'm over the moon with the results biggrin.gif Much less flex in the front and more controlled cornering smile.gif

The prototype (pictured above) came out well but still in need for few corrections. Once these are sorted, we’ll start production.

Facts:

Weight = 3.05kg (including all fixings)
Adjustable side-to-center rods
3mm steel top mount plates and center bracket
Side-to-center rods D = 22mm
Cross bar thickness: 20mm x 40mm
Cross bar and side-to-center rods made of AL6063 or AL5052 aluminium (need to clarify which one)
Top mount plates & center bracket colour: gunmetal
Cross bar and side-to-center rods will be polished

Price:
RRP is POA but will be way under £200 mark (still with 10% discount for 6G members)
Shipping and handling fee for UK and Ireland is £20

Now there’s few more pics:

The cross bar was designed to be aligned as with centers of shock absorbers.

Oval shaped holes will be reduced to exact size; angle of brackets for fixing side-to-center rods will be improved; center bracket depth will be reduced.

Adjustable side-to-center rods have ball joints on center bracket ends.

Remember price is still yet to be announced however because people have asked for an estimate, I would say it'll be £200 MAX no more. However based on the currentimporting conditions, it is most likely to be less then thatso please dont be discouraged.
RT-P's products are not designed to be cheap. We are to be competitive and to fabricate our products to a very high level of standards in terms of performance and finish.
At the moment, based of the specs and modifications, this is the one of the best strut braces you'll find.
a strut brace is a strut brace. the space between struts don't work so hard
in what it is better?
once u have a price set i'll let u know
You only have one hood strut on your car? o.O

Not true. Alot of strut braces are made of different mareials and their charactoristics vary in strength and tensile flex.
Where as a 2 pont strut brace signicantly strengthens and limits flex between your two top mounts at doesnt redcuce twist in the engine bay like a 3 point.
A good strut brace can transfer enough force to press down in the opposite shock absorber when cornering hard. If your brace is not made strong enough and not rigid enough, energy is lost via flex or it'll do nothing.

The horizontal brace on ours is located centre between the braces not on the top or bottom edge of the top mounts offering the strongest and most direct line of support.

Yes because I have a carbon fibre hood which is very light and two gas struts is too much of an overkill.

Update.
Its been over a week now and so far we've tested it in urban conditions in city roads and pushed it hard in country road.
Handling is greatly improved wish such sharp turning response. Literally point the front end and gun it and it will go.
We've had may GT4 members from the GT4OC forum visit our cars and they are all very impressed with it's build, strength and design and it's been prompted as a must have for serious track users.
With the help of others we've made some slight changes in design for improvements. Thinning down the fat and strengthening certain parts.

The rods will be left unpolished same as prototype and ends will be painted gun metal.

As stated price is still to be announced but will be under the £200 mark. Not £199.
Postage from UK to US will be £45. Total price is still alot less then leading brands at a lower spec then ours.
First batch is already all sold out in the UK.
Second batch should be ready in about 2-3 months time so you have plenty of time to save up.
For now lets just keep the list growing.

Easy for you to say when you've also got power at the rear wheels to push the end around. wink.gif

If you make these long enough, I'll eventually be in a position to need one. thumbsup.gif

I can ship to the USA.
As for postage to Australia, sydney and anywhere else in the world, best I find out when I have them with me for a more accurate price.
I only know postage to USA cos we had 1 sent there.
