alright so the last time there was a socal meet was in mid december of 2008. And there was only a total of 4 celicas that showed up including myself. This time i want it to be much bigger. At least 10 cars would be nice. I would want it to be on a Saturday or Sunday since i work mon-friday. Go ahead and let me know your guys scheduals and when you would be available so we can get a pretty good sized meet going.

Some things we can do :

-K1 Spped.
-Angeles Crest Highway/ortega highway canyons driving
-Cruise over to san pedro area where the long beach shipping docks are.
-Do some bbq at a park and hang out.

Anybody else got any ideas?

cant be between july 12 and 28 cuse ill be outta town Id like to go. driving down to the docks sounds cool... i havent been there in a long time but i remember a lot of restaurants on the edge of the marina. A bbq sounds cool too

hey eggman 40. craig was telling me yesterday how you fixed your fuel lines or something cause your car wasnt starting up. Alright then thanks for letting me know when your available. Ill just give it sometime until members start responding to this topic.

I will be there, given my car doesnt fall to pieces by then lol.

I work horrible schedules, but as long as I request a day off two weeks or a month in advance, I should be fine.

Btw, I saw a white 94 hatch with three cute girls on the freeway the other day before work. They followed me while I sped up a little and then they sped away after I said whats up to em and 'can I have yo numbah?!' haha jk.

i may be interested, but i don't think the canyon cruise would be the best idea. i think it would end badly as in someone either getting in an accident or getting a ticket. just past experiences talking. going to the docks or even going to the beach for a BBQ in huntington beach would be kinda cool too. photo shoots in the parking lot if we got some decent spots and the right lighting (close to sunset) would be awesome as well. i may even wash my car for the first time since christmas.........

ya canyon cruising is so so, but I know what you mean. I know a little route on the way towards san pedro that goes through some houses and climbs to the top so you can see all of the city. Theres also a parking lot near the top of the beach where we can take pics. I went there last time when there was some big honda meet a month ago.

i would choose huntington but thats just me

Huntington would be my guess too. Either go straight down Beach Blvd or I'll just take Los Alamitos Blvd to PCH =)

yea i finally finished putting everything back together after a mild rebuild. I was having issues with my fuel filter but its cool now and it fired up. Id definitely like to head out now. I need to break my car since i rebuilt the head. But it would be nice to meet up with some members on here... lets try and set up something soon. Keep me posted. thanks!

harbor, beach, canyon cruise, I'm down for whatever. I do work 10 hour shifts on the weekend tho, I'd have to try and get off.

This sounds awesome guys. I don't think a meet will be put together in time before I move . As of July 1st I will be part of the Nor Cal group. If anyone is interested maybe we can do a Thursday night drag meet at Irwindale before I go. Keep me posted though. If the meet is big enough I might be willing to make the cruize back down here.

I would be okay with anything. Any of you following the toyota fest meet my car has been put back together but now I am spraying fuel from a small line. Should be fixed by Friday. So sad...

Ya when I get on the gas I smell fuel really bad . I have been ignoring it though . Of course I did have problems getting home from Toyotafest when I got on the freeway I nailed the gas and by the time I let up the car started to sputter and wanted to die. It was a long and stressful drive home on the 91 Frwy

lots of parking in different spots down pch and beach access areas in that general area. plus there are quite a few places to get food down there too if we didn't want to do a picnic/bbq.

ive created a list of members that live in Southern California along with the cities they live in and the last day they logged onto the website. I was kinda dissapointed in how little the last meet was (not including the members that said they were going but could not make it since some last minute things came up that were emergencies)

ya i didnt put some people that i know are active on the forums. i just people that log on every once in a while but do not reply to any posts or topics.
I remember when i first started on the site i got to the toyota fest 2007 and i saw two members from 6gc arrive 2 min after i parked my car. they asked me if i had checked the meet/event discussion topics and i had no clue what they talking about becuase i had only joined the site a month priorer to attending toyota fest.

So maybe if we can message those people on the list i posted we can get more members to show up at the meet?

ill be there in tomorrow at 9:30 to do my alignment. Ill probably be upstairs sleeping on the table while i wait for my alignment or go to cycle parts west which is right next door.

I liked Autobacs as much as the next guy, but it's no mystery why they went out of business. It was just an attraction for car enthusiasts and nobody really bought anything because the prices are so darn expensive there. I would like I feel like I contributed a little bit buy purchasing a radio from them and having them install it , but sad to hear what has happened to it. How do you know it's owned by Mexicans now? Did their inventory of large chrome rims and other various chrome parts for Honda Civics increase?

Hmm it's weird watching a SoCal meet being put together and me not being a part of it . It was a little over a year ago when the SoCal crew was booming, but then everyone just started leaving, crashing/selling/parting their Celicas, or just simply dropped off the face of the 6gc map. I hope this meet turns out really well for you guys because most of the people posting here are Celicas I've never seen before, so please take pictures .

ya i bought radios for my car there, some tires, speaker, i contributed to the place a little. but yes i agree not really a place to buy from just to hang out and watch best motoring vids and to have meets like you said. yes i asked an employee why the name changed. she said it was owned by mexicans now and that they did not let the employees choose the name of the store. So their family chose the name. And yes there are 24 inch rims and grills, an engine from a chevy sitting on display.

ya hopefully we can get something going. Im still waiting for people to tell me when they are available i have weekends off. So 99 celica i dont know what else to say. people aren't putting forth any input as to what we should do or letting me know what days they are available. So i guess we will just have to wait it out...

You should try to contact Random Stranger. We were supposed to get a meet together around this time, but my schedule got too busy. However, I still have something planned for later this year..
