Whats your purpose to build your celica? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #63538 42 posts Started by bccentaur3
I've been pondering on the fact that all my friends are building their celicas, but for what?

I have a buddy with a 3rd gen swap with a turbo upgrade, but for what? He doesn't plan on building a drag monster, is it for his own enjoyment? Or is there a purpose to build it? Show car maybe?

Another buddy is building his 5s and also upgrading his current turbo set-up, but for what? He never pushes his car.

My purpose is to make on bad azz rally-x car. I could give a rats ass on the rock chips and the strain I would be putting on the car, its for my enjoyment.

Whats your purpose?

to be able to pull up to the light, look at the honda to ur left, the scooby to ur right, and know u can torch both of them if needed..(but of course u dont because u respect the rules of the road)

my reason is to say "yea that is my car.."

and to enjoy driving...

Well, we all have our own reasons inside for building our Celicas. For me, it's a learning experience. It's a lifestyle, even if you don't race, enter shows or competitions. It's a way to express yourself and interact with people who share the same passion as you. I build my car for myself, not just to be better than anybody else. When I drive my car, I feel what it's missing and I try to improve what I believe that the car is lacking. In the end, I will have a car made just for me.
im building mine for a few reasons...its a life style..i cant leave stuff alone...i want to turn heads with it and make ppl realize its not a lil girly car..id like to be able to take it to the track and have some fun and really just enjoy it......i plan to achieve this by boosting my 5s....changing up the exterior to my liking and just a generaly clean car...

i hate snow, missing my celica
i'll give ya 3 guesses. smile.gif

Oh man, I hate to see you pull up next to a Viper on the left and a Hemi Cuda on the right...or ANY bike...
A few reasons everyone else has said and more...

Enjoyment of working on my car, to enjoy driving and look good doing it, to give the interior the look/feel of a newer, expensive sport luxury car, to have a nice-sounding, balenced, powerful sound system... basically to "enhance my daily driver"

When my car is no longer my daily driver (I don't plan on selling anytime soon) my goals will change... 3S-GTE swap...

My car is my hobby and what else would I do in my free time without it?

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
why cry? You're building another Celica. Yes its not a 6th gen, but something to show them old school muscle cars.

Turning heads while driving, knowing that you have a good ride, and get compliments from friends and randoms at caar parks. And the fun driving around in it. And something to be proud of (unique and different) biggrin.gif

Cars are my passion. Im building my celica for a number of reasons. For enjoyment for one thing. i jsut love working on it and customizing it makeing a 1994 celica, BRENTS 1994 celica. For that fact that i just love doing it. Celicas are looked down on in the car world. because they are slow. but building it to be a monster and shwoing everyone what the celica has, drives me to do it. Turning heads. a sense of accomplishment to make a stock 135hp celica to a 400+ hp monster. that is something to be proud of. gaining the respect of the other harcore enthusiest's who have already accomplished there goal. a way to relax. Walking back to ur celica from a store, seeing it parked and being able to say...damn, thats my car. a way to get away from everything. Working on the celica in ur garage u can just get away. Or driving it when its done. during the day looking at the faces follow your car as u drive by. haveing people point it out to their buddy to check out your ride. and then at night. its your getaway on those empty latenight roads. its just you and your creation, no one else.you can leave just leave reality and get away. It defines you.

yea. thats my purpose

I couldn't have said it better myself! That's exactly why for me too. That, and because I think it's just the coolest thing that there are SO many variations on the same basic concept - to get from point A to point B. To be able to modify one interpretation of that concept to individualize it and make it your own is totally rewarding. I do graphic design all day. Modding/working on/improving my car is my creative outlet.

The fact that you're in Okinawa serving our country is plenty reason to be proud biggrin.gif
