Just got back from the Texas 6gc meet in Austin.
13 Celicas in total showed. 1 mint condition alltrac ( bowdown.gif ), 3s swapped monster and my V6 + a lot of really clean 6th gens.
Fun meet - it was a pleasure to meet all of you. Took LOTS of pics & vids. Here are some pictures to get started. Hope you all enjoy:

Thanks. Yes, i have TONS of footage. I just sat down to look at it, and its a lot. It will take me some time to sort it out and edit it into an epic movie. Maybe i'll post some teasers though. wink.gif

minus the heat (started to get a headache), and the stalling of getting food after a vast majority of us said we were hungry (I get EXTREMELY disgruntled and aggravated when I don't eat), and the assnozzle in the Lexus SC400 (looked like a tool. I swear he did) that cut me off and I nearly rear-ended him, I had an absolute BLAST! Makes me curious to know what that other street you were talking about had in store.

Hopefully I'll have the Supra ready to give it a shot next time this rolls around. wrd Speakin' o' Supras. I think a few of the MK3 guys are doing the same thing come November if a few of you wanna do this again.

Actually, it was right in west Austin (meet was 20mins from downtown). Round Rock is 30min north of where we were on I-35.

I was wondering the same thing...
They had the same color car as me ("baltic blue").
I figured they were more Houston guys? Or was Panda and Havok the only two Houston guys to show up late? Maybe member "kylekonvicka" who said they'd roll w/the other two?

love the pics snapshot biggrin.gif

we had a great time meeting up with everyone & enjoyed the drive minus our cooler taking a nose dive in the backseat ... i'm gonna bungee that sucker down next time tongue.gif

thanks for welcoming us - there just aren't enough all-tracs around here to meet with, let alone ones that are running.

we didn't push the car as hard we could with the heat being so bad ... and i'm glad we didn't b/c on the way home the temp gauge was all the way to HOT so we had to stop in Waco & let the car cool down for 30-45 minutes before we could get going again.
the coolant was boiling out of the overflow tank & there was quite a bit of steam coming out of the radiator itself under the cap.
good thing we brought a jug of premixed toyota coolant along b/c it took the entire jug & the gauge stayed at only halfway the rest of the way home.
i'm not totally sure if the thermostat is taking a dive or if the radiator is just that inefficient when the temps under the hood & outside are that high...i've got some searching/investigating to do.

Matt - i'll look tommorrow on the hot start issue & shoot ya a PM on what i can find.

Mario & zero07 - no problem at all, Joe's glad ya'll enjoyed the ride biggrin.gif

Bahaha tis why you are a mod sir! I LOVE IT!!!

This meet was awesome, its been a long time since i have driven my car that "spirited" (the last time was probably the day i got her and got a ticket kindasad.gif ). But i loved every second of the wide eyed, heart pumpin, hand shakin, prairie dogg havin turns that i would do it all over again!

TEXAS MEET FTMFW!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif
yeah it was me and a friend that rode with i road with panda/havok i wasn't to talkative as i was fckin exhausted next meet should be more fun + i'll have more than $57 dollars which is what i spent on gas made it home with 3/4 tank left! biggrin.gif
thumbsup.gif that's along cruise...it's like going around the island 5 times and then some biggrin.gif

nice pics colin

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
Really good turn out and great pics guys and gals!!! Collin sent me the link of the meet and I was suprised to see an all-trac (Vadar) that I recognized. Its always nice to see a bunch of clean Celicas together at one time. We have a meet in my area on July 19th in Champaign, IL. It is not just a Celica meet, but there are always a bunch that show up at the Speed-Source meet. The v6 swap looks great Collin, how does it perform in what was called spirited driving that was mentioned above?
sweet pics for texas biggrin.gif whos that white celi with the c-one from??

BANNED. for life, you moron.
some quick pics I took.

Holy crap I'm tired. Anybody else's clutch leg refuse to work when they got to their hometown?
Lisa got tons of pics and vids too - gotta go through and edit them some.
Snap - no mod bashing - we just have a vested interest in keeping at least some fun left in the site. Hopefully you take some of what we said back to mod-ville and take it in the spirit we intended - love for 6gc.net.
You did an incredible job of mapping us a fun route and just overall taking the thankless task of leading the meet [A chore that is usually mine so I'm really happy to report you did well and I had a GREAT time sitting in the "backseat" for a change]. P.S. - you know when Ngofcukingway has such high praise the meet was an absolute success - pat yourself on the back.
Seems like everyone got home OK except maybe Panda and Havok who we somehow lost on the way home - even keeping it to 70mph speedlimit.
Everybody I met was cool as hell [hope you guys liked the stuff I brought you].
SA guys - we gotta get together before the end of the summer both in your town and mine [you guys'll have fun in my garage biggrin.gif ].
Darthripley and Just joe - you're car is amazing [thanks for picking an uphill spot to remind me why GT4 owns GT2 - buttholes tongue.gif ]. I'm sure if I didn't spend 4+hrs last weekend overhauling the coolant system I would have been in worse shape. Thanks in advance if you can help me with the heatsoke issue. I'll hit you up when I get to DFW to hit up Aaron and ATS - maybe you can show me some fun roads around there.

Pics coming ASAP.

Thanks Todd. smile.gif
The V6 was great. It really can pull hard out of the turns and onto the straight-aways with instant torque.

I've got a bad feeling about this pic that is going to be posted in relation to this pic (**cough scott cough**). You can see my legs sticking out - the pedal pad (is300 type) fell off during the curvys. woot.gif

Thanks, i'm glad you all enjoyed it. I think we have proved Texas can have a very successful 6gc meet.
I will say i agree with a lot of what you and others said. Its a balancing act on our end in running the "moderation" with forum rules, personal opinions, different personalities etc. smile.gif

I sent you a PM regarding the hot start issue - hopefully it will help.
please hit us up when you come on up to dallas & you can see the MR2 & Camry also. there aren't too many fun roads around here ... they only last for 5 minutes, not a nice long rollercoaster like the road snapshot took us on, but we can find something. wink.gif

Thanks again for all the kind words everyone & for welcoming us to join in smile.gif

We both can't wait for the next meet with more twisties to attack with a much better suspension ... one that isn't 18yrs old.
zero07 you did a great job sticking right to us - what's your suspension setup?

in case anyone was wondering why i wasn't driving ... i'm still learning how to drive a 5spd & i get nervous driving in a lot of traffic .. think back to when ya'll were learning & that's where i am right now. next time i'm going to be sharing some of the driving along with joe biggrin.gif

looking forward to more pics but especially the vids! biggrin.gif
