Less than a decade later, here comes Obama. I still think they're gonna have to beef up security ALOT no matter who goes into office. Be it a woman or a black man, someone is gonna try to shoot someone. rolleyes.gif

Obama would need Clinton as VP to lock majority of votes for Democrat side. IMO.

I'm starting to wish that I didnt live in the US. The government is making me want to leave. Then again I live in louisiana but Jindal seems that he's trying to fix the state.
I like him.

I have to admit that i don't know a lot about him but he seems like a decent man, quite eloquent.

Do you guys think he has enough experience to be president?

personally, i don't think he has enough experience to be a great president, But anyone who can at least get us to level ground (financially) will be great in my eyes biggrin.gif

IDK, who knows, he might turn up to be the messiah, but (as stated time and time again) anything to get bush out of the office. Keeping bush in office is like putting me or you, or anyone else with Zero political skill in there. (no offense, but most of us aren't politicians, lol) I wouldn't know what i was doing. You couldn't pay me enough to do that. Uh-uh. Bush has about as much ability to run this country as me, Except he decided to try. (his daddy did it, so he wants to do it too laugh.gif)

EDIT: 4 paragraphs of pointless bush bashing removed tongue.gif

It's too divisive; I think the worst thing he can do is choose her for VP. He'd stand a better chance of winning if he chooses a running mate who is more moderate/conservative as a democrat. It'd be too much of a novelty IMO if there were an Obama/Clinton ticket. It'd just become a circus, and hard to take seriously I think.

I agree that he's quite eloquent - and more engaging than Hillary as a speaker. (I think she's really boring to listen to!)

As far as experience, he actually has the same amount of experience as a senator as Hillary. I'm not so certain that being the spouse of a president qualifies a person to become president; so with that, I think they're about equal. As for Obama to McCain, well, McCain is a dinosaur, which in itself in my opinion negates his experience. I appreciate his experience, both politically and his life experience, but frankly I think that 200+ years of having stuffy old white men running this country is just getting tired and not working out so well!

I couldn't be happier that Obama got the nomination. We DESPERATELY need fresh blood in the White House. I think Hillary is just another political clone/milk-toast Democrat who talks a big talk but I'm not so sure she'll actually put up.

It's not that the previous presidents were all old white men, it's that most of the more recent presidents in the past are just plain not cut out for the job. I mean we have had some really good presidents in our country who were able to make alot of progress. We need that again.

I just hope not many of you work in the pharmaceutical field ... we won't have much of one since obama wants to make it all in the government to regulate prices... so much for being a pharmaceutical sales rep. He does have some good ideas and anything is better than bush i guess....
^ this is true, but I also think it's true that our government has just gotten stale and antiquated. Enough is enough is all I'm sayin'. Throw a young white guy in, I don't care really, but I have yet to see a young white guy who is a viable candidate #1, and #2, I believe that having a Commander in Chief that is NOT an old white guy, particularly one who is female or just not-white will offer a fresh perspective that this country has been missing for a long time. The days of the 13 Colonies are long over, and while there are still regions that are predominantly white, we as a country are comprised of so much more than its white anglo-saxon protestant founders. I just think we need accurate representation of this country. 200+ years of old white guys is not a balanced representation of the people of this nation nor does it offer a balanced perspective as to the needs of this country. In my opinion, at least.
I am neither an Obama fan or Mccain. I really have no idea who I would vote for in the upcoming election. Now my question for all of you who are Obama supporters: What are his policies and what does he stand for? And please do not give me the whole: he is not George Bush (because that got John Kerry oh so far)
I dont' think it matters what the presidents race/sex/age is, just his agenda. By classifying people in that way aren't we stereotyping? Anyways I hope Obama wins mainly because I dont' like McCain.

Yeah, and if Obama becomes president, what are the Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's of the world going to do? They will have nothing more to fight for - their ultimate wish came true - a black leader in the highest position. I def. prefer Obama over Hillary.

And i swear to Bob, I will B!tch Slap the Sh!t out of the next black person to start crying racism just because that individual is in the wrong. I'm not aiming that at all black people, but (and all races, we have our good folks, and our bad) and the bad folks of any race will find any excuse that works to get out of trouble. We all know that. But with a black man in office, the excuse "Racism" will officially be canceled. laugh.gif
