>Yeah, and if Obama becomes president, what are the Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's of the world going to do? They will have nothing more to fight for - their ultimate wish came true - a black leader in the highest position. I def. prefer Obama over Hillary.

And i swear to Bob, I will B!tch Slap the Sh!t out of the next black person to start crying racism just because that individual is in the wrong. I'm not aiming that at all black people, but (and all races, we have our good folks, and our bad) and the bad folks of any race will find any excuse that works to get out of trouble. We all know that. But with a black man in office, the excuse "Racism" will officially be canceled. laugh.gif

BOY ARE YOU WRONG! it might get worse! there ARE resentful people in teh world. and the fact that obama is in office will NEVER erase 439 years in captivity. racism lives. and always will. things are just MUCH better now, and the thought that because a black man is president will cancel racism or the excuse of such is a VERY dangerous thought. BUT i understand where youre coming from. black folk need to up their game if thats what youre trying to get at wink.gif

the saddest thing is that some people are going to vote for him just 'cause he isnt white. Gotta love how racism works on so many different levels. Hopefully everyone is voting on their stands on issues and not because one is an old white man and a black man.
lol. It's true. It works in EVERY direction.

I have to say I don't like ANY of the candidates for president. So I'm 99% sure I'm not voting in November. smile.gif

If Hillary became president I would have moved out of the Country.

What I don't understand is why we have to dwell on the past so much. Yes African Americans were slaves once. It was a long time ago and people are still holding some grudge over it. All races have experienced racism at one time or another. I mean even women were treated like inferiors and you don't see the majority of women dwelling on it.

I personally hate Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson. They try to turn EVERYTHING into a racial issue when it isn't. That just bothers me. I think they cause more harm then good.

And NO i am not trying to start and argument so if you have something rude to say don't waste time typing it as i will not respond and it will make you look like an ass. wink.gif

I agree with you, but you have to admit that the presidency was pretty much the last thing that black people and women were not allowed to accomplish in life. I hope that this election puts the last nail in the coffin on this subject.

>I just hope not many of you work in the pharmaceutical field ... we won't have much of one since obama wants to make it all in the government to regulate prices... so much for being a pharmaceutical sales rep. He does have some good ideas and anything is better than bush i guess....

I for one would be VERY happy to see all pharmaceutical sales reps die a slow and painful death.
I hate the way modern medicine is being marketed and pushed on doctors and patients by these people. Obama's health plan would actually benefit sick people, while the sales reps just try to rob them.

My people built the pyramids, so I've got ya all beat where the slavery thing come into play. (just joking)

As for Obama's policies and what does he stand for? Policies on what? That's kind of vague. So here's my answer in a nutshell. Albeit this is according to his campaign; personally, I take what they all say with a grain (okay, a pillar) of salt.
- Bitchslap corporate lobbyests/special interest groups (McCain w/his ties to Anheuser-Busch can't say that)
- Universal Health Care (blah blah blah, we're not Canada and it's not going to work in our current system IMO, although it exists in Oregon and it works *fairly* well)
- Lower healthcare costs (see above comment)
- Tax cuts for us lowly middle class who make under 200k a year laugh.gif
- Amend NAFTA among other changes to repair our miserable economy
- Social Security reform, education reform, energy consumption reform

I could keep going but you get the picture. I'm not going to get into details about how he plans to enact these reforms either, because that's just too long really. But if anyone's interested, I'm more than happy to supply sources so you guys can do your own research and make educated and informed decisions. It's really not just about picking the guy who isn't a stuffy old white guy as far as I'm concerned. It's about picking who I think will most likely affect change here. I genuinely and thoroughly believe in our country and our constitution. But I also believe it's been distorted and perverted to the benefit of the pockets of others. I'm just ready for someone to give our government a swift kick in the ass! I don't care if it's a Republican or a Democrat or Ralph Effin Nader (yeah, right! LOL), it just needs to happen!
^Ron Paul would be your man, than.

Reason = Why
Excuse = Why Not wink.gif

But i understand your defense. And it's not just "black" folk who need to "up their game" it's stupid and lazy people. All races have some of those tongue.gif

I acutally think this is a serious risk for Obama. I sincerely hope security is high because his assination would be tragic on so many levels.

Yeah that's true. It didn't help that Hillary pretty much ordered his assassination a few weeks ago.

Al sharpton and the mr jackson are BLOWHARDS... nobody listens to them, and they try to make an issue out of EVERYTHING! though some time with good reason, i hope they dont think theyre getting appointed anything...

as for Mccain, I actually like the guy! im just worried that 1. he will keel over his first year, 2. not change anything for the better.

as for ol iron britches, well i really dont know what to say about her... lagos made an interesting point about her assasination comment. that did it for me. i dont trust her, over teh course of her campaign she was up and down and back and forth on things. not consistent enough for me albeit, she is one tough s.o.b. no b.s. games under her watch (for the most part)

Most black people arent holding a grudge over what happened NOT TOO LONG AGO. (just about 3 generations) its just that 40 years ago dogs were sicced on people who wanted to eat/vote/stand somewhere that they actually had the right to. or somebody is shot 41 times and reload over what police think is a gun (wallet) scars like that dont heal quick.
takes a long time to get over things your grandma/mom/dad tell you they went thru, and this country is DEFINATELY on the right track! wink.gif just a couple more nails to go!

McCain = Bush's 3rd term.
Hillary = Will say and do anything to get elected. Meaning the she will probably do anything she wants once shes in office.
Obama = Change? Change what? Washington? Bull****.

However, out of all 3 of them, I like Obama the most. I don't think hes going to do any of the things he says, but I do think that hes going to be a very inspirational president, much like JFK was.

A perfect reason to never pick her as V.P. ---> a person driven that hard to become president would have too much incentive to order the hit.

this country could use a young president.
as art had said, he could be a very inspirational president just as kennedy was.

he can definitely talk the talk and i am curious to see if we can walk the walk

same. i have only watched him on tv a few times. i know a little bit, but i will probably learn alot more now that it is down to just 2. and there will be more focus on him.

all i know is that i have a good feeling about him and that he seems right for the position.

This is a very exciting time for us as a country IMO, we have the potential to attempt to correct the massive amount of wrong's the current administration has done the world over, get ourselves back on track as a country (so far as health care, jobs, etc etc are concerned), show that racism, while still a factor, has decreased so much so that we could have our very first black president and yea... pretty awesome stuff.. im also hopped up on vicoden (back injury) so everything seems inifitely cooler than it normally does so weeeeee biggrin.gif

Obama voted to legalize the procedure of vacuuming out little babies brains (known as partial birth abortion) while they're being born, so I can never be excited about a candidate like that.

And he's just as black as he is white- he's half black half white.

In 1997 Barack Obama voted against SB-230 would have made partial birth abortions illegal and also against a 2000 senate bill which would end state funding for partial birth abortions.
