Kinda feel bad, but thinking about selling the 4 - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #42027 55 posts Started by Watanbe88
So ya, I have been tossing around the idea of selling the GT-Four, she is a great car and is running great now but it is more I have way too many cars to keep them all up. I mean this winter I am building a Delorean w/ a rotary in it along with refitting my RX-7 for SCCA track use and just don't have the time to give the car the love it needs. And this isn't the only one going I am selling my Jeep too. I already sold my old Corvette and handed off 2 other RX-7's. Ya I had a problem, leave me alone. Anyone interested let me know, I haven't settled on a price because the car isn't ready for sale, I am going to finish the brake job and some other little things before I sell it, so looking around November to put it up. Any questions can be posted, PMed or emailed to otakurx@gmail.com. If you are in a different state I don't know how your emissions are so you may need to install a cat on the car, NH doesn't have an emissions check really so I stripped it of that.

Peace,
Mike

wow...a GT-four in the USA...someone will eat this up, i would love to...
I am about to buy a WRX, but a ST205....Depending on the mileage I would buy it.
Youre website link doesn't work... Is it street legal?
is this thing for reals? its not one of those fab'd up awd system crap is it? damn
guys, this is a REAL DEAL, street legal GT-4. IIRC the RMV thinks its a base ST. lol
mike is a good guy who's done a TON of work on the car to get it back in good running condition.
BTW, mike, i may just have to kill you now. wink.gif

how much is it to register? obtw, i emailed ya!
Sorry about the link, just fixed it. The car has a fresh motor in it (only maybe 2000 miles on it). The car itself has 58000miles on it. I have a spare transmission, the old blown block, another head and various other parts for the car. We basically restored the car. The car has a Blitz Access ECU that seems to be malfunctioning (not advancing the timing) so I was originally planning to put a Motec M4 from Fensport in the UK in her. The car is a real GT-Four from Japan, RHD and all. It costs as much as anyother car now, and every state has their requirements for inspections NH is very lax on it. It should be fine in any state other then Cali as long as a cat is put on the car. Due to the cars rareity I am looking for around $20,000 esp with a fresh motor and turbo and the head work which has been done. But I will consider any reasonable offer.

Things not done:
rear break rebuild (I have the parts including new rotors and pads)
Exhaust has a leak
ECU has an internal error (blitz won't respond) so replacing w/ a motec
Wheels could use some paint

Things Done:
Engine rebuild
Port and polished head
HKS intake
HKS EVC 3 boost controller
GT35 hybrid turbo
3" downpipe
Pioneer stereo
850cc injectors
Stage 3 clutch (have a spare too)
lightweight steel flywheel
Recaro seats
Car alarm from Omega

Parts:
Rear brake parts inc. rotors
Stage 3 Clutch
Spare turbos (3x)
Greddy Boost Guage
old block (bored .40 over w/ pistons)
Second head and intake and exhaust manifolds
spare altinator
New Carpet for front
other random parts

I know manni it is horrible, but I can't maintain 4 cars and work part-time and goto school full time, and out of all my cars she is the one that is worth passing on. So I guess this could be a once in a life time opertunity. It is one of 2 in the states that I know of, yes it is fully legal titled and registered in NH. She was at the last Colt State Park meet, so there are some more pics in that thread.

I don't have one, but yes that would work too, but why go stock when you can go better ^.^

edit: I fixed the web link. That has great pics of the rebuild.

edit2: ok I misspelled celica in the link, come on guys noone picked that up?!?

But as he said, it's 1 of 2 in the US. I'm confused, and I have NO idea what I would pay for this.

At what RPM does the turbo spool up at? (what PSI is seen at what RPM) And is the GT-4 ready to drive home?

my mr2 turbo spools at 2.5K rpm...think its faster or maybe around same time
Yes it is all set to drive anywhere, I have taken it to RI a few times now. It can spool as low as 2k but really kicks in between 2.5k 3k and holds solid to 7k with ease. I will think on the price then. I will say I think 12k would be on the low side (not saying too low so DON'T PANIC)

lmao operating cost? wtf are you goin to pay the guy because he's been driving it...this car is no different from any other car..IMO 20k is too high for an 11 year old car..end of story
12k does sound like a fair price but does have mods i would expect somewhere around 12k-15k on the high side...

hahahah my family has a problem with cars too wink.gif your not a lone...

2 trucks, a van, 87 acura legend, 1995 celica, 2004 IS300 Lexus, a 57 Oldsmobile convertible, 69' Chevelle, and an El comino. we also have... 2 harly dividsons, one of them custom (its sits in our living room laugh.gif), a dirt bike, and a speed boat....

yeah.... thats like... 13 motors of some sort just sitting around.... the funny thing is a lot of these things dont even run laugh.gif

Teh Celica sleeps for Winter '06. Suspension overhaul begins........
Hmmm. I think I could put this car to a good home.....I'll have to do some serious thinking.

I do believe that having a GT-4 in my driveway would make me a happy man. wink.gif

So it's illegaly registered? ...

Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06Car #2: 95 Celica GT- purchased 8/03, current daily driverCar #1: 01 Focus ZX3- purchased 5/01, sold 8/03
Would you drop the price if you took the after market parts off? I would really like to buy it as stock as you could get it.
I'm interested. Let me know what's up when you decide to sell
Well in reallity I will sell at any time, as for operating cost, the brake pads are the same as a 3000gt, the rotors are special order, and if you can keep yourself from turning up the boost above stock (.9bar which is what I run it at) she gets 27-28 mpg I can go from henniker, nh to bristol, ri on just over a quarter tank (tank is 16 US gallons). I would drop the price by not including all the spare parts. Remember just because it has the high power parts doesn't mean you have to use them to their full potential. I will grant you the car is 11 years old, but it is a special car, absolutely unique in the states, even the chassis is different then ours, the gt4 has like 4 times as many spot welds as a normal celica.

And to make it clear, as she is setup right now (all settings set to stock) she is running and stable, if you want to make the most of the way she is built she would need a new ECU. Which, if the car doesn't sell by november I will be putting in.

As for price, my high is $20k everything included (note I have the manuals for the car) and I will go over everything and how it is hooked up and working when you come to get the car, really I am looking for around $15k for the whole package, but in ebay terms no buy it now at that price. I would want to meet the buyer because I have spent 2 years aquiring parts to bring her to like new status and want to know she is going to a good family. Before sale I will be giving the car a complete going over to make sure she is road worthy. I will have the cracked exhaust pipe fixed next week.
