ok suckas I have done some research and found out some things.
I did a search for "7th" in the sus forum here and found a bunch of big brake posts and from the info in all of them combined this is my conclusion....
7th gen brakes will fit on an ST (front) but not a GT. The rears will not work with either GT or ST.
from which 7th gen ? the GT GTS or st ? there is any difference on them ?
Well if the GTS dosent fit then it may not be worth the hasel of upgrading .. but, it is still an option worth knowing about incase you get in a jam for brake parts... lets finish this so we can have some "real life" proof that this "IS or IS NOT" a possable alternative... I may try and whem somthing this week end if i have time...
Hmmm....funny you mention the "big brake" idea. I have a project underway that will probably give us an option for those seeking larger, more powerful brakes. I'll keep you all informed.
Really all it comes down to is getting a rotor that mates to the hub properly with a 5x100 lug pattern, a caliper that will match the size of the rotor after the pads are installed to maximize its surface area, a custom machined bracket so that the caliper hardware will bolt up to the knuckle properly and stay perfectly level (any imperfection would make for shuddery brakes) and then some custom lines to mate up with the calipers.
Its alot of work and custom fabrication and won't be cheap either way. 7th gen kits are going to be pricey and for less money you could source OEM parts to do the same thing with a visit to the machine shop. Sure its not name brand, but if name brand is what you want theres already options there too. There's upgraded brake kits for the ST202 as well, you can find them on EBay but they're way overpriced and use a massive 8-piston caliper.
I'll keep you all updated on what I find out.

My friend has a 7th gen parts car in his backyard. I'm going tomorrow to see if they fit. So I'll let you guys know and get you some pics.

awesome

would be nice to have some hands on confirmation
I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
as Silver94Celica said, we have a big brake kit for the 6gc in the works.. It uses a 321mm custom rotor and 4 pot calipers.
The kit includes:
321mm rotors (options for drilled, slotted, or both)
4 pot calipers
S/S brake lines
High Quality pads
Mounting Brackets
The kit is going to be around 1100.00 shipped.. that price isn't set in stone.. we are aiming for lower. We will soon be in the testing stages. If everything goes good we should have the kits available by mid march.

Sounds good

. So would this be for the GT and/or ST? And would this include front and rear?

This is only the front. If rear is in demand than we can work on that after we finish the fronts. If we did a rear it would be nothing more than a larger rotor on a larger single piston caliper. You don't really want much braking power in the rear.
We can make an ST kit then.. but we both own GT's lol. When we do an ST kit maybe we can get someone to donate their car for the mock up.. give them a free kit then

Ok, we'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Sweet, glad to see some interest.
The brake kit would probably require a different bracket to be c&c'd up for the ST but is definately doable.
These brake kits we're developing, unlike the 8-pot brake kits on EBay and available in the aftermarket, should be much better suited to the car. 8-piston calipers on a giant oversized rotor is just way too big IMO and would probably make drivability suffer by being way too touchy. Being a four piston caliper with a 321mm rotor will allow for a much better pedal feel, but with alot of stopping power available due to the braking surface area. Plus, they'll be less expensive and have the ability to use OEM parts for upkeep.
Punisher and I will work on getting a set or two installed, and then let you all know what our experiences are....hopefully we can provide a good upgrade for the community.

just for looks

Swappers need them, lol. 7th gen rotors fit on the front, and I think that's for st or gt. I used to have gt rotors on the front wheels of my st. $1100 is a good starting price Punisher. Are they going to be slotted and cross drilled?

Slotted and cross drilled will be an option. There will be different levels of the kit. Blank rotors will be cheaper.. You can upgrade to slotted/drilled.. As of now there is nothing new to report as I'm waiting on parts to arrive still. UPS Ground from Cali takes 5-6 days

I don't really understand the need for a big brake kit. I have stock rotors with semi-metallic break pads and I can drive hard for 20 mins before I get significant fade. My GT will stop on a dime too. I've got some nice 4 piston calipers ready to be put on the front of the car, but I would have to scrap my 15inch racing wheels to run them. If you want a pretty car, just invest in some paint and stop worrying about big brakes.
Link to the brake pads I use. I have them front and rear.

no it would not fit. the st205 has super strut suspension, and it does not transfer "easily" to the macpherson strut suspesion found on the USA celcia.
Just to give an update, the big brake kit is coming along rather well. It shouldn't be too much longer now.

Just some FYI, you should be able to run subura GC8 rotors on st202's without the superstrut. They would be able to work with the superstrut, but they are too small, therefore getting a bigger size persay, that of the stock 205 rotors would work just fine. I say this btw, because i am currently running GC8 rotors on my 205 (lol, funny story behind it) as a way of getting around for the time being. I also test fitted them on an st202 with and without superstrut for clearance issues.
Maybe for the point of having other options availible, they might also work the stateside GT's/ST's. If anyone might need a spare rotor for research ill be happy to provide them with one!! Or maybe also even a steering knuckle. Lol, but thats just reaching too far i guess.

If the caliper has a mounting bracket, pull that off too. Why hasn't anybody done this? I cant find a 7th gen-thats my excuse. Somebody do this please. Lets solve this once and for all. We all benefit.
TBH no one in the UK wanted to try this because every one in the Celica club UK agrees that the gen 7 celica brakes are the biggest let down on the car. Most even upgrade to the ST205 Calipers so why would you want to put gen 7 brakes on your gen 6?

I was more interested with the big brake kit being made by members, not really worried about the 7th gen brakes too much

the reason why this was important ( for US at least ) is the option of bolting 7th gen Big brake kits to our cars with no modification, there are some brake kits made for the 7th gen that range from 700 and up, a lot cheaper option than buying one advertise for the 6th gen which typically runs for over 1100.
I had a 7th gen GTS brake system on my car for over a year and have no complains, it didn't feel as a obvious upgrade, but they perform really well, now i have upgraded to the ST205 brake system, and I have yet to really push these brakes to see how they stop my ST, I still have to do some tweaking to my suspension in order for the brakes to behave / perform as they should.
Question though? Do you mean a 7th Gen GT or GT-S brakes? I've come across a few 7th Gen's at a Junkyard around 45 mins away from my place but i never got the idea to take the brakes. They were all GT's Though so iono. if anyones interested and they live in SoCal Near Riverside head to the pick-a-part on Pyrite of the 60 freeway thats where i've found around 4 before

7th gen GT as smaller, you want GTS unless they are 2003+ after 2003 they are all the same ( GT and GTS )

not available in the states and SS III ( superstrut ) brakes would involve some modification to work just like ST205 brakes.

not impossible
