Last night I was at the red light beside a new Honda Pilot. I didnt quite know wheather or not he was going to race me, it was some kid so I figured there would be a chance. Light turns green and he guns it. I drop the clutch, tired chirp and I'm off about .5 second after he guns it. I'm going through the gears, and he is pulling away from me. The gas pedal is on the floor, and yet he still pulls away from me. Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on here?

BTW before you flame, I race SOLO 2 so don't "flame" my driving ability. I'm not the best but I do shift very quickly, I'm taking the car to the track in the summer and I'll let you guys know how fast I do the 1/4 in.

Is the 5s-fe really that frigging slow? Or do you guys think the Pilot was modded?
I've only got a CAI and I was running 91 pump octane on a full tank when this happened. >>

I kick the crap outta Focus ZX2s and Civics (except SIs) in the Rodeo, not much to brag about but its funny. Whats funnier is that i have a cone filer on it.

haha i've beat'n a pilot but then agian it was my friend tiffy that i was racing so it was a girl lol ( no offense to any of you girls out there)
but yea focus zx2 isn't that great

Yeah no such thing a Focus ZX2 I don't think...they have a ZX3...and the they have Escort or Taurus ZX2.

i had a 7th gen gts (manual) at my rear bumber all through 1st and 2nd.... but once i hit third he gained one me

the fact that there was aparked car comming up in my lane didnt help either.... i had to slam on my brakes!
he was revving hard too.... he gave me the thumbs up when we met up at another light

6th gens own 7th gens off the line.... but other then that.... meh

need some nos to keep pulling through 3rd

wow, how did you pull this up from almost a year ago?

well sence its up.. I have raced an explorer v6 92-95 style, and stuck right next to it, i could see the two kids int he explorer laughing with me..

But my moms old van and my pops truck would spank most celicas..

only thing ive been able to beat was a honda prelude...one of the early 90's...and that was because we were already going over 55....7a's are so sloww....its frustrating.....

i raced a friends rsx-s and a acura integra (friend of mine, dont really know the year or model) but i barely lost against the rsx-s and won against the teg. fun stuff? dunno they were both newbies on the manual tho (he only owned the rsx 3 months or so)

the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.

I own a 52 HP festiva, so my 95 celica gt feels like a rocket! But I have lost pretty much every race I had. Its so bad, i just roll down my window and say dont bother-u won. I bought my celica for reliability #1. Everything else is extra..So no complaints from me..

i won most of my races... unless it's against those cars like teg type r, r32 etc etc... but i've always had a dream. i'll win a EVO and STI with my celi... with skills... not power. >> .... oh btw since we're in this topic.... a 360 modena... yes.. you heard right.. a ferrari tried to race me on the BQE highway.... dude was flashing high beams and s*** tail gating me and cutting to watever lanes i cut to... i wonder what would've happen if i really raced him.... >>
