I can't wait to hear how nasty that 3 cylinder sounds with straight pipe lol.

I'm proud of Toyota for finally making a cool car on their own since the early 00s, GR Yaris aside I wish we got.

The wife wants one, so we're trying to figure out how to make that happen.

Truth be told, I want a Circuit Edition, but caring for that dry carbon roof scares the **** out of me.

A friend in Cali has 2 deposits down at 2 different dealers to try to snag one for himself, was 3rd in line at one dealer and like 20th at the other one. I hope he gets it! It'll be a fun car for him but he has such bad luck with other people totalling his cars I worry lol. 2 years ago someone sped over a hill in a school zone and rear ended him after he pulled out into his lane. Last year a drunk smashed his tuned NA Mazda 3 and his mother's RX300 in their driveway then drove off and was sober by the time police got him in the morning. I guess if he gets one it might make it an even more limited edition.

I mean, the looks are fitting of current gen hot hatches, sure. But, why is this thing so heavy? 3,249lbs? A mildly tuned GT-Four would weight less and make more power, with tons more power potential. I just don't see any tuning room in the 3 cylinders of fury of the Corolla - let's hope I'm wrong.

But, I have to give them credit for the stick shift. Solid move, Toyota.

Would I want one? Not sure. Good question.
Well the Yaris is doing about 400whp before it needs head studs down in Aussieland. Might be some wiggle room there still.

I'd still rather have the ST205, honestly. BPU and you have a reliable & quick+ car - at least in the ST204 with a 3rd generation 3SGTE.

But this is wildly cool. I did talk to my sales guy about the Circuit version but pulled out because I didn't want to deal with first year bugs (if any).

Yes but a ST 205 won't meet any modern vehicle emissions or safety standards so moot point until you build a time machine and can buy one new off the dealer lot. Car now has to meet standards now, not really a fair comparison.

Not to sidetrack the discussion, but I'm wondering how hard swapping that G16 would be into my 205....

Motive Video is up at 500whp and just broke the 10s with their Yaris with relative ease, it just makes me wonder.

Just thinking about the difference in power delivery between the 205 and 215 3SGTE, I can only imagine what a 20 year difference in technology could make.

I mean it won't be bigger I don't think? If a V6 fits, I'm sure an i3 can fit!

Put the 3cyl in a 205 & the 3SGTE in the Yaris.

I know there's some 3S Tercel/Paseo/Starlet swaps! I imagine these cars would also be prime candidates for G16 swap.
