Hey, i was wondering if anyone knows the size of the stock muffler? (inlet size, length?) thanks.

i'm pretty sure that inlet is like 1.75"
yeah i just checked and its around 1.75" - 2" (wasnt sure) does that render universal mufflers (2.5" - 3") useless?

2.5-3s are for turbod engines, you'd already have a new cat back exhuast. Err, I think.
hmm but they say they're for N/A cars? or can you get smaller inlet mufflers or daptors or something?

No idea, but with a inlet that big on an N/A car, I doubt you'd see any power gains?
i have a 2.5" straight through muffler on my car, you have to have custom piping done to compensate for the adjust of pipe size...but in addition i had my resonator removed and sized up to 2.25" straight piping but not a big power difference, helped a TINY bit....i'm upgrading all the piping to 2.5" or 2.25" eventually...something to think about
Just make sure to buy a good muffler. Thats the most important part. Just remember you get what you pay for.
I wouldn't go with anything over 2 1/2" inlet. There really is no need for anything that big. You can get adapters to make a 2" work. But anything bigger you will definately need some custom piping.

my muffler has a 3 inch inlet... I have the HKS one, but it was for my 3s-gte, it has just been attached for about 3 months, no piping yet, but will be done with my swap.

For a 2" muffler you can just get a single adapter to make it work. If you have basic welding skill it wouldn't be hard to make it work. If you want to go bigger it will take some bending and more welding.

Borla Xr-1 and Magnaflow mufflers can have smaller openings that 2.5". Try searching those on google.
you can get a 2" inlet flowmaster muffler. Mine is 2 1/4".
any half way decent exhaust shop is gonna be able to make an aftermarket exhaust work on stock piping. so I wouldn't worry too much about the inlet size.. more than likely it will be 2-2.5 inlet, just take that to an exhaust shop on a tell em you want it put on.. they will charge you a fair price.
