When you say MSD ignition kit, do you mean a MSD 6a ignition or a MSD coil, or what?

Moved to a more appropriate forum.

New Toyota project coming soon...
the msd 6AL its the sport compact one. on my coil there were 2 negative wires and one postitive one. i hooked the 2 up to the negative one and the one postitive one to the postive one. then i connected the 2 wires to the 2 coils and then hooked up the wires that need to go to the battery. i also cut the 2 wires for a 4 cylinder hook up and inserted the 6000 pill
I'm not real good with ignition stuff, but aren't the coil and ignitor inside the distributor for the 7A-FE? I know that the ignitor is, and I'd assume that the coil is too, but I'm not sure.

Also, did you use the MSD Toyota tach adapter? I've read that it's required when using the MSD 6a with a Toyota car.

So what's difference between MSD 6A system and HKS Twin Power system?? Do they are as same as power the ignition system in our car??
yea the coils are in the distributer and i didn't use the toyota tach adapter oops
shouldn't have bought in the the first place man! upgraded ignition won't do anything on an otherwise stock or close to stock car. Good job figuring it out though mang!
whats weird is i hooked up everything how it was originally and it still doesn't work.i think i fried something should i get a new distributor
check your fuses to your EFI, ignition, etc. You could have it done right now, butyou may have blown stuff in the process. also make sure your grounds are very solid.
you shouldn't have done any damage... i have a 6al, blaster 2 coil, and 8910 eis tach adapter (i'm having HUGE problems because my ignitor, which was an externally mounted internal ignitor went out)..... we tried wiring around having to use either the stock ignitor or the tach adapter and it didn't work... i can guarantee you that it will give a hotter spark... trust me, it shocked me today (damn that hurt)

get a tach adapter a blaster 2 coil, and a coil tower adapter (this you'll need... to go from an internal to external coil)..... the negative coil wire goes to the black wire on the 8910 eis... the brown wire (12 volt positive... it's just an ignition turn on) will go to the red on the 6al and the 8910 eis... plug the 8910 eis into the 6al plug (it only goes in one way)... the black from the 6al goes to the negative on the blaster 2 coil, and the orange from the 6al goes to the positive on the coil....

watch out though, as i found out... hotter spark on cheap cap & rotor = melting parts.....
also, if you found that somehow you blew your stock coil and want another stock one (don't want to mess with the aftermarket stuff) then let me know... i have an only 6 month internal 4a-fe (7a-fe should be the same) coil...

and the dizzy should be fine... unless somehow you tapped into the wires on the sensors of the distributor..... (not talking about the ignitor or the coil)
eh.... w/o a working ignitor i'm kinda stuck at home.... tv is boring & i've seen all of our movies way too many times..... so relaying info online is a good time passer
A question...I have a blaster2 coil, do you think that's good that I install it withoud any MSD control?
If yes I have to disconnect the iintternal coil...which wires have to be disconnected?

thanks >wink.gif>
