So there's this new place in Mokena, I don't know if it's any good or if it's within anyones budget but it could be fun. Just throwing it out there as an activity in case the weather doesn't cooperate.

May 19, the go kart place sounds like a neat idea.

Sounds like a plan people.

Joe: Update the first post. Lock in the date, May 19th

I guess, now that the date is set, we can discuss karting.

Would this just be a bad weather thing? Maybe we do this after BBQ, instead of the hike? Maybe we just move the meet to the karting place, and go for pizza for dinner?

Discuss!

I'd LOVE to do karting, it's just so damn expensive for such little seat time. Not sure if I've ever told anyone, but I used to race karts nationally (photo below).

The best thing about hiking is that it's free and relaxing. Do you guys think that karting would cool for a backup if we know that Friday that Saturday is going to be crappy?

Haha!

I went to a go kart track last year in Broadhead, WI for my birthday with my dad and brother and it was a BLAST!! One practice run of about 15 laps and then a main race of 50 laps. It beat the s h i t out of me! It was $80, but that included EVERYTHING and it was a freakin' blast! They were the closest thing to the karts I used to race that I've ever done.

The date is ok with me.

As far as karting... I vote for it as a back up plan in case of bad weather.
That's good with me too, maybe we can do a karting meet some other time. Maybe I'll go check it out with someone and see how it is, I'd hate for this to be a repeat of that road you all followed me down that one time. laugh.gif

Yeah, I couldn't find a whole lot of videos on YouTube, but it looks kinda lame and not many places to pass.

Or we all buy **** corvettes & take the body off of them.
Erin will be in town Sunday, maybe we'll go try it otherwise I'll have to scare someone else up.

Joe is right, small tight track without much passing, but could still be fun. Looks like there's a sports bar type area, some games, and there's other places to eat around Mokena too. I think it would be a good back up plan if the weather gives us the donkey punch but as a primary activity I'd rather a bigger track to play on.

But there's really not much else around to do if the weather turns foul and this is sort of on the way home for some of us and not far from where we get pizza. Meh. We can try it and if we don't like it we won't do it again.

Ok. Karting as a backup plan it is.
