Koni Yellow Install - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #9781 7 posts Started by Jeremy1210
I am looking to get Koni yellows. I want better handling than stock. Using Eibach Sportlines too.

Anyway, I have read that the Konis have to be welded into the existing strut housing. So, how much would that cost at a mechanic shop?
Koni's themselves run line 600 for the set, but I don't want to go to a crappy shop.

What type of places do you all recommend I go to to get them installed?

If anyone knows of a place by cincinnati Ohio, please let me know

Suspension is a pretty regular thing, almost any shop can do it. Im not sure about the extra work for the yellows but at my shop strut install per front or back is like $80-$100
It cost me 440 for the install of the koni's, springs, and a new alignment. The only thing that has to be wielded is the rear sturts because thay have to be cut out and then wielded back in. But any shop that does suspension work should be able to install them.

How do you like the KONI's? I have sportlines and am almost ready to change out struts.
the shocks don't have to be welded. mine were done without welding. If you search the net, you'll finds sites with complete install instructions. I think koni's website also has the instructions. I would give you the links, but i deleted them all.
Thats odd that you didn't have to wield them, cause the distructions that I got said that they had to be cut then wielded in. But I love the Koin's. Im going to be taking her on a long road trip for SB and I will really see how they ride on the soft setting.

didn't have to weld mine either. but you have to cut a hole in the bottom of the rear struts as the Koni inserts have a extra bit that sticks out.
