The PO was a good friend of mine, who I thought took very good care of the car.

Turns out, he was more dedicated to work than the car, and he basically let the car go for 2 years (with the exception of oil changes)

Last summer, I had to rebuild the whole front end when the upper ball joint broke ($1K), got it all working, had to buy tires ($700).

This year, emissions forced me to replace the knock sensors, but since I had to pull the intake manifold to do that, I replaced the starter (because it's under the intake), a coolant sensor and all the injector seals ($1k)

I officially have more money into the car than I purchased it for.

In celebration of getting the car back together again, I washed it last weekend. I wanted to make sure that the coolant was all bled, so after the bath, I let it run...

The upper radiator hose clamp decided it didn't want to live anymore. The car didn't overheat, but now I'm not sure if the new denso radiator is still good.

It's always one step forward, two steps back.

Well... at least you didn't have to install 2 Mishimoto full aluminum radiators in a big truck within a month. Definitely not impressed with some of their products.

Chris, in the interests of you not putting your face through the radiator in a fit of rage just replace that thing now. Let me use my amazing psychic powers and tell you that the upper hose nipple thingabob on the radiator is brown plastic. It should be black plastic, brown plastic is plastic that's about to take a **** on you in a big way at the worst possible time.

He said the radiator was new.

Ah, I missed that. Radiator is likely OK, use a sprung t bolt clamp or a new OEM style spring clamp.

Anyone in the market for a mostly clean but high mile red Supra shell with a JDM 2JZ and auto trans pulled from the vehicle already? We should FINALLY be getting the title within the next month or two. Owner broke the engine, partially paid us to replace the engine, couldn't finish (turbos were trash), and then vanished.

How much are you guys looking to get for it?

Not sure yet, title is still in process and I'm not sure what kind of title it would be at the moment. Once the title is sorted out and I can tell you actual facts instead of just blowing smoke out my ass I'll let you know. It's red, got around 200,000 miles, some body kit bumpers on it in decent shape, looks like all the parts are there, horrible aftermarket chrome wheels with crappy tires and a ****ty exhaust tip that doesn't fit right. The engine and trans are out, the engine that was in it has a convenient viewing window on the side now. The JDM engine was out of something with a different oil pan, not sure exactly what, it's got the JDM turbos and stuff, some of this is a bit fuzzy since I haven't gone through it in about a year. We've got a big box of parts, the stock turbos are gone, we gave them to him to send them out to be rebuilt and his wife tossed them when she cleaned the garage, but they had chipped blades and TONS of play in them.

You were first on the list, once the title is in the shops hands you can swing on by and check it out in person if you'd like. It's been stored inside on a rack the whole time.
