Sputtering prob - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #9738 4 posts Started by Phr0z3n664
My engine started leaking oil bad, so i replaced the valve cover gasket, and spark plug seals yesterday. My PCV(from Intake manifold to Valve cover) was brittle and broke, so i plugged the holes for the moment.

I drove off and noticed I can't go above 2k rpm and it makes this sputtering sound, can someone pleas help me out w/ the prob I am so frustrated right now....

My timing wouldn't have been thown off huh? I didn't take belt off, only the top 2 screws to let the black plastic piece to let go of the valve cover

* And one other question is the bottom throttle cable supposed to be loose? the top one isn't<-pulls the lever, but the bottom is.
Ummm.... dude you dont want to plug that pcv valve. It helps get rid of some of the excess gasses and what not. You need that in order for your engine to run correctly. I used to have an old S10 and my pcv fell out of the truck.... dont ask..... but anyway I plugged it up and it started to sputter really badly. The truck finally stalled and wouldn't start anymore. Take that thing thats plugging it up and put a new one in.
you might tighten your header bolts. You might have an exhaust leak. Other than that, fix the PCV
I am at work right now, so i can't do anything...

My father just called up and he said my fans aren't working either now.... Is it possible it might be a bad fuse that's causing the fans not to run?
