The calendar is finished and ready to order! Here's a small preview.







I was hoping someone more creative than me would start discussing the calendar but we're definitely running short on time. I've got a source that can print them but before I start looking into it, we need to discuss which pictures will be in the calendar and maybe work up some sort of design for the cover. We will also need to know how many people are interested and committed to buy before we place an order. I'm open to any and all suggestions as well as letting those who have made the calendar in the past take charge.

Do we want to use the high res COTM winners as a base to go off of? I'm sure we will need more pictures to ensure that we have enough high res pictures.

Good question, and I did not address this in my original post. The printing source I had as of this morning is no longer my source after they called me back with a corrected price of $35 per calendar. I made a few more phone calls to local places but nobody else will touch these calendars for such a small run, so I'm being forced to look online. I'm seeing prices starting at $5.50 and heading north of $40. I'm going to do my best to keep them under $20 shipped. Unfortunately, this means that there may not be much customization for this year's calendar. It may be a very simple design with a picture on the top page and a simple calendar design on the bottom. Can you check the original photo (before it was uploaded to Photobucket) and get the file size? Photobucket shrinks the pictures pretty bad.

I don't have a specific date in mind, as I just started thinking about this before I went to bed last night. Ideally the calendars will be ready and shipped before the start of the year. However, as my luck would have it, I've been forced to find an online supplier, and all of the online suppliers are having sales this week. Right now, I'm looking at Vistaprint, and their calendars are normally $18. But now through December 4th, they're $7.19 apiece. It would be fantastic if we could finish up a design before then, but I'm not that optimistic.

Since jordisonjr and Roadrage each won twice, they will each need to choose which picture they would prefer to be in the calendar. I will also need the full resolution pictures emailed to me. I will be contacting each winner individually to get permission to use their photos in the calendar. Using the COTM winners potentially gives us most of the pictures we need, pending permission and high enough resolution. Given that I am going online to find a supplier, I am not under as strict requirements that Martin normally is but I still need as high quality as possible because these pictures will be blown up to fit a standard 8.5" by 11" calendar.


I will go ahead and submit malecrod's Celica as well, as I know the resolution is high enough and it was cut from the calendar last year.

If at all possible, the pictures need to be finalized before December 4th. I know that isn't a lot of time but after the 4th, I will be searching for a new source as my price will more than double. As of now, I can do them for roughy $10 shipped in the US, but after the 4th they will be closer to $25.

I'm not a COTM winner but if allowed i'll submit mine and a couple shots I took? (not sure if I can put other members cars in?)

Had a hard time chosing a favorite photo, but here's some from the last shoot I used. Input is welcome, I'd be happy to see any of these in the calendar. Thoughts?

They're all great shots! I will just need permission from Top Tier Imports before I can print any of their pictures. I just don't want to cause any trouble with them.

yeah thats the issue with most of the COTM pics. they all seem to come from other photographers so we would need permission. With only a few days left, thats gonna be tough. please keep sending pics guys!!

The owner of Top Tier Imports (Shaun, also the photographer) is a good buddy of mine, I'll have to prob getting permission. Ill see what I can do about having the watermark removed, but I'm not sure how likely that will be.

I'm not worried about the watermark as long as I have permission to use the picture. I'm just trying to avoid the obvious legal issues.
