odd but it doesn't happen always. and when it happens, i can just turn off HID, accelerate over 3000RPMs and then turn on the headlights with no problem.
is this something to do with old battery or old alternator? i'm a bit suspicious of alternator and plan to check the amperage output if it could be a possible culprit. any opinion?

Test parts between both sides it'll show itself

not quite sure what 'parts between both sides' mean. could you clarify?

thanks. i don't think it's something to do with swapping bulbs or ballasts since the problem doesn't occur only one side constantly. it's like sometimes the left doesn't turn on and the other way around other times. when i accelerate above 3000rpms i can always make the both lights functional.

get some Anti-Flicker Warning Cancellers and put it in. I had issues with my driver's side HID, i put one in that side and it seems to fix the problem.

you can also switch to AC ballasts vice DC or get a relay harness.

I've read about this problem on other cars, usually it IS a voltage/amperage issue. Ballasts can take a large amount of current to start, any weak wiring along the way will act up at ballast start, since both draw off the same power source the one with shorter wiring gets power more readily and will start while the one farther away will get a weaker power and fail. Try running a heavier wire harness to the ballasts and see if that fixes it, theretrofitsource.com sells some good harnesses for cheap.

thanks. i looked into similar products, and found out they are capacitors. i already have two capacitors connected directly to battery. even in that case would it be a solution? maybe direct connection to headlights could make some difference?

Ac ballasts and relay harness already make the difference. Dc ballasts shoudnt even be sold.
