It seems as though the Scion brand has come to an end. I can't say I'm surprised. I've never been too crazy about any of their cars and sales are pitifully low.

they should remake an AWD turbo hatch again...and mr2...and supra.
Well it's just the brand name, big deal.

God made man....Everything else...Made in China
Here in the states we always have extra names... Acura is a Honda anywhere else.. Scion was a marketing technique for the USA to get younger people to buy Toyotas. I think they think Americans are dumb like everyone else thinks lol.
finally.

I knew it wouldn't last from the first Tc I saw at the Chicago auto show in 2005. I thought 'man that's not a very good car for the price' and I was right. They're not, it's like the Toyota Solara. Weird niche, the cube cars did much better and weren't that bad inside or out.

I don't believe it yet but I can still hope. Even if it's a rebranded STi, I'm still up for it.

It would have to have a toyota logo on it for me to love it. I loathe what has become of the subaru community. Cant let them take one of our cars

I hope that the TC comes back as a new Celica, since they are NOT going to bring the current TC over to Toyota.

Although I've never loved the tC, I am a little disappointed they won't be rebadging it and bringing it back. To me, it's the most successful car Scion has ever made. The xB was very successful for a short time and the FRS is a Subaru, so I can't figure out why it's being discontinued.

In other news, we still aren't getting the GT86. Now we'll have a Toyota FRS, because why not add a fourth name to the same car?

Maybe they won't bring back the tC because they are plotting to debut a new Celica. If ever there was a time to bring back a nameplate it's during these times when car sales are at all time highs.

Toyota sucks deal with it, Toyota and performance are things of the past. If anything is made in the performance category here in the US it will be badged as a Lexus end of rant......

If history class has taught me anything, is that history repeats itself.

GM brought back the camaro, Honda brought back the s600, Toyota has the chance to bring back the Celica.

We just need enough of us out here giving Toyota a reason to do it.

Saw the video.

Shall we look at Lexus sports car history. Say. No more

IS-F, LFA, RC-F, upcoming LC500 which seems to have evolved from a FT-1. So no matter what like the man said every sport car will be badged as Lexus end of story. The LC500 just seems like a competition for the GTR and NSX being released end of this year.

And Lexus needs to shut up about their 306hp 2GR-FSE that came out 11 years ago. Seriously I hear it in all their radio commercials. You couldn't up the power while retaining better MPG? Oh that's right we slapped an extra 200lbs to our 3rd gen IS, but it handles better...

You want quality ha. My auto professor told me all wiring harness for Toyota 2016 and up a will be all white with color coated tips before each connector pin. Ha just to save money but so making it a nightmare to work on..

The FR-S wasn't a Lexus, neither was SF-R concept.

At this point I have this feeling that Toyota had preplanned the demise of the Scion to coincide with their attempt to reinvent the brand with new life in America, especially after witnessing the most successful year in America last year and witnessing the continually fall of Scion in sales. This is why the SF-R looked so damn production ready, because they are going to try to fill the Scion tC sized hole in the lineup with a smaller sporty car that is more geared towards cruising than all out canyon carving. I think if you stretch out and widen the SF-R and put either a 1.5 turbo or a 2 liter straight 4 (i'd rather have this than an inline), curve the ass a little more, you have a Celica.

The true sports cars will most likely be Lexus, but I still think there is room for a sporty grand tourer.

Just saw this directly after posting. That is unreal they would do that to the wiring harness.

I can only imagine being home sick for training day on the new harness and showing up to work to plug in the harness and being all like "wtf?" lol

Ok Ok one last edit:

So doing some research, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Motorsport_GmbH these guys are the people responsible for our beloved gt-fours. SINCE they have already completed the SF-R as a racing concept... is it so hard to see that Toyota is already giving hints that it MAY it MAY it MAY be considering the SF-R to compete in the same market that the GAZOO guys competed in all those years ago?

lol guys, its nice to dream. but i doubt its happening. toyota may produce a new car, but a model line will not be revived.

for every celica enthusiast, there are hundreds that disliked it. so they would want to start fresh. because they would like to sell more than a couple huundred,

Think about what the revival of the Z line did for Nissan, Toyota can do that as well!

I know what they want, they want to follow the same line as Nissan and turn the Z into a crossover, the GripZ, and probably compete against it with the new C-HR and call it a legacy name, but I know Toyota wouldn't be so silly as to name a crossover after the revived Celica name *deep gulps*

You are an optimist, but Toyota has turned their back on your dream quite a few years ago. If you want Toyota's newest sports offering buy the new Corolla and drive into the sunset or better yet a Prius C. Everything else is a pipedream and should be treated as such. Toyota performance is dead face it or not......

I believe the Celica name is dead, but I think there will be a successor to the tC.

funny thing about pipe dreams is that's how I sleep best smile.gif

I've actually called a couple dealerships just to have them start asking around, maybe get some hype going.

I figured it was only a matter of time, I actually had some hope when the Toyobaruion GT-RZS came out and with the ceo saying he'd like Toyota to return to making exciting vehicles. Though I guess lackluster sales and excitement fizzling out so quickly pretty much killed that.
