Hey All -
My car started slipping out of 5th gear back in June (2015).
I took i t to a trusted local shop and they said that basically the full 5th assembly is worn out, but they couldn't order parts.

I have worked with the local dealership and even a contact at Toyota HQ in California. Turns out the very last part I need (5th / reverse shifter fork) doesn't exist. It is on a list to be made in Japan, and then will have to be shipped over on a boat. BEST case scenario I am looking at about two more months to get the part. If there is any sort of problem in shipping or customs it could take an extra month.

So now, I am considering buying a full new (used) transmission. Anyone have a parts car??

It checks junk yards/scrap yards for what you need. I just looked for you and there is 4+ pages of s54 transmissions it states mileage ect. You could find one local or within a reasonable driving distance. Just don't waste your time on door panels... They all are in 5/10 condition or not willing to ship haha.

I have 5spd out of a my '94 GT I removed, car had rod through block replaced it with 3sgte and ES300 trans, so stock trans been sitting here,, located in Chicago if u wanna drive out here to pick it up
