Appears my car has a salvage title issued in Feb. 2002... yet it wasn't on the title when I bought the car.
And I'm the 4rth owner... other than that, nothing bad...lol
Hehehe... they my AE86 qualifies for the 5,000 coverage... and carfax claims it's clean...

should be interesting to see if my MR2 turns up anything, i have a good standing title on it (not salvage) but the motor was siezed 2 owners ago, the previous owner rebuilt the whole thing. ill have to check it when i get home.

my car has had 3 owners which is what i knew.
the original owner bought it in 1991 in New York, he had the car for 11 years untill 2002 (which i already know is when the motor seized on him)
after that the car was purchased in PA (which was the owner before me)
he spent a full year repairing the car, and drove it for 2 months after completion, then decided to buy a 04 WRX STi
and thats where i come in hehe.
cars been driven an average of 8k miles a year. not too shabby.

Its good to know that I haven't been lied to.
I'm the second owner with no major accidents. It did have a fender bender accident though, but nothing major.
remember also for the carfax to show up with a major accident it must be reported to them or the DMV. 99% of all accidents dont get reported to them unless its to claim the insurance for a totaled vehicle.
so you cant always trust carfax for their accident reports. what you should check is the records maintained by the previous owner.
