How to wire up a wideband o2 sensor to the 5sfe engine? I have a ame augo o2 gauge.

I bought a used aem wideband and its missing the connector between the gauge wire and the o2 sensor. can anyone tell me how to wire them together or did I get ripped off? right is the o2 and left is the gauge wire. there are more wires going to the gauge than the 4 coming off the sensor.

Is the O2 sensor bare wires also? If so then the sensor is trash, wide bands have a calibrating resistor on the connector that's a specific value to each sensor. Sensor connector should be 6 wires, 2 heater and 4 for the sensor.

I have the controller but the laser etched resistor and connector are missing. And by controller I mean the gauge itself. Also I thought the resistor was only to eliminate the free air calibration.

So the sensor has bare wires and the controller/gauge has bare wires? Then you need this:
http://www.aemelectronics.com/products/sen...-with-connector The sensor is trash without the resistor, Bosch wideband MUST have the matched resistor they are built and calibrated with. If it's gone then the sensor is useless.
That kit will give a new sensor and a connector kit to rewire the gauge/controller to connect to the sensor. AEM can give you a pinout so the right colors go the right places.

I would have went with a narrow band for the 5s. You don't need wideband unless you're tuning and stuff like that.

That's a 4 way splice for a universal O2 sensor, like when you buy the cheap sensor you have to wire in yourself. Are you sure the sensor you bought with the gauge is even a wideband sensor? Just buy the sensor kit with connector I linked and that'll get you up and running. Be careful mounting the gauge, mine was in a tiny black pod exposed to sunlight and the back of the gauge got so hot it warped the plastic on it! Luckily it still worked when I took it out and sold it.

I checked the sensor serial number and it is a universal wideband or lamba sensor. So how would I go about wiring this up? any Ideas on what wires from the controller do what for controlling the o2 sesor

As I've said before, it you're missing the resistor then the sensor is useless. The AEM gauge as far as I know has no free air calibration abilities so if you're missing that part of the sensor then the sensor is trash. The resistor IS PART OF the sensor, like how your frontal lobe is part of your brain. No resistor, no sensor. You need to figure out if you have a setup that's prior or after 2014 when they changed the type of sensor then buy the sensor kit with connector. It will not work with the cut off sensor you have now. You need to know if you have a 4.2 or 4.9 gauge as the controllers are different between the types of O2 sensor, use the wrong sensor and you'll fry something or get incorrect readings. You got a ****ty deal if you paid more than $100 to $150 given that the sensor is trash because they cut it off.

YOU NEED A COMPLETE SENSOR MATCHED TO THE CONTROLLER, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO MAKE THIS WORK.

Maybe just a partial refund as long as the controller/gauge powers on and seems to work. The sensor is trash though sadly. Maybe just buy this new from Amazon or something.
