Can anyone help me with regards to the box which splits off from the air intake pipe and is it OK to remove and block up?

I have no idea so any help appreciated, cheers, Tom.

Also won't let me upload the pics linked from photobucket?? Ugh

If you're talking about an empty black plastic box clamped onto the backside of the pipe it's just a resonator.

The easiest way is to just do the image embedding button after having uploaded to Photobucket or the like.
