The big motor is fine, it's the little motors... - 6G Celicas Forums

Well, since I got the convertible 4 months ago, I've already had to spend 500 dollars to fix the passenger back window, which wouldn't go up or down anymore. This morning, my passenger side convert motor totally went out. ::sigh:: The toyota dealership said 321.00 for JUST the motor, god knows what else they'll have to replace. ::sigh:: Just when it was getting warmer too... >frown.gif>

That's too bad. >frown.gif> I'd look for the motor in a junkyard somewhere, as you can often find parts much cheaper. My ignitor that I bought Tuesday was $361 at the Toyota dealer, but I got it for $71 used and tested from a reputable Toyota/Lexus parts place here in Washington.

New Toyota project coming soon...
Dealerships are last resorts.

Yeah, I went to the dealership because I was actually next door at a store, thats all. They were like: We can order it today! and I was like: uhh.. no.

Plus, it never hurts to know the dealerships price on something, in case a shop tried to screw you
and dealerships are great for getting estimates and toyota parts from insurance claims instead of shady after market crap.
when my motor died in my lebaron convertible, it was like $150 for a new one... i said **** it...
