annyoing open door peeping - 6G Celicas Forums

When you have the key in the igntion it starts beeping if you have the door open
If your cleaning the car that's all you hear
Any way to disable it
I took of the 10 fuse in the engine bay but it kills the dash clock as well

Simple and temporary? Tape down the door ajar sensor.. haha
its the black rubber switch located by the door striker

why don't you just take your key out??

unplug the peeping sensor.
Pop off the plastic surround the key ring (ignition), look for a plug toward the back of it (hope you have small hands), unplug it.

But if you unplug it, your doors won't auto unlock if you try to lock them with the key in the ignition and you run a higher risk of locking your keys in the car. It happened to me two times until I plugged it back in.

No, it just does a 2 second prime when you turn the key on.

Then you can listen to music without beeping or fear locking yourself out of your car with it running.

It beeps when your doors are open?

It auto locks?

Auto unlocks

It auto unlocks if you go to lock the door with the door open and the key in ON position. That and if it doesn't beep then someone at some point disabled it.

This is actually on my house lol, my cat was climbing the fly-screen and we went out to find what the hell he was doing... Apparently Giant Huntsman Spider is a play toy to my cat >.< :

I know I'm living in an inner-city apartment building now instead of out in the suburbs.... but after 3 months I'm not actually sure that I've seen a spider in America at all.... tongue.gif

Edit: my attempt to stay relevant to topic backfired when I realized I was in the wrong thread.... tongue.gif Relevant to this one; my car does auto-lock the doors when the ignition starts but that is part of my alarm system. I have driven a BEAMS swapped st204 in Brisbane and can say that the beeping ECU is definitely a factor in the 'minuses' column for an engine swap tongue.gif

I'm 99% certain that the ECU doesn't have anything to do with the door dinger. My car will still be just as noisy with the key in the ignition and my ECU unhooked.

Something to do with the in dash wiring harness?... the BEAMS that I drove had the full interior wiring harness with climate control and everything swapped over too.
