These.

Seeing as how you are texas and its getting closer to warmer weather, the heavier oil is best

10W-30

10W-30 is what I use in my hot climate and it's very good. Oil pressure dropped to 10PSI at idle after a few boost sessions with my old, bad radiator and no oil cooler.

how about additives? anybody use Lucas Oil? I use Rotella T 15-40 cause that's what Walmart has for $12 a gallon. then I spend the extra money on a good mobil one or Bosh filter.

I would spend money on better oil instead of any additives. For example if you're going to spend $30 on mobil1 and $10 on Lucas, might as well get a $10/qt AMSoil that will last you 7-10K miles without a sweat.

I use CASTROL Edge 10w-30 in the winter and 10w-40 summer, accompanied by a synthetic grade filter like Fram Ultra Synthetic, K&N, or Bosch Distance Plus. I still change it every 3k miles

I also have a customer that runs Royal Purple and changes it once a year. Says it's still good when he takes it out (only drives about 15k) and is purple, in his Toyotas.

I use Super Tech from Wal-Mart and a Denso filter, Super Tech oil is made by Rotella/Shell.

Ya I figure Rotella has a good reputation. And I tend to change it after less than 3k miles, because the motor is kinda old and dirty.
And I've got a small leak coming from maybe the head or rocker cover on the intake side kindasad.gif

Absolutely Nothing better than Mobile 1 Fully Synthetic.

Agreed! Mobil 1 Synthetic + Lucas Oil Stabilizer + OEM Toyota Filter. I usually run it for 5k minimum, i changed it every 3k during the first 2 years of owning the car.
