Hey guys, i want some advice on a pod filter install

with the air temp sensor - how important is this component? Can i leave it hanging near the pod filter, or should i plumb it in?

If i do plumb it in - Whats the best way of doing this? Get a small pipe extension from an auto store and drill a hole in the rubber, and slot it in?

the proper way to install the temp sensor is to drill a hole, find a rubber grommet the right size and stick it in the tube. On my car when it was turboed, and Amy's car now, i just have it sitting in the engine bay. You need the sensor plugged in or you will get a CEL. (96+ years)

Righteo, that was another idea of mine - Although i see one flaw;

Because the pipe is round, and you've fitted the grommet, and slotted in the sensor, won't there be a gap? Between the bottom flat edge of the sensor, and the round pipe? Or is this something that won't affect it?

Provided the filter has a rubber bottom, which it should, take a soldering iron and burn out a hole. Be careful not to breathe any of it in, but it makes a perfect fit for temp sensors in the perfect location.
