BRZ STI leaked - 6G Celicas Forums
Looks all, virtual.

Won't happen, at least not factory turbo. Could likely be a "TRD" varient for Subaru where it gets a lip kit, stiffer springs, and a sports exhaust.

It already exists. Its called the Hyundai Genesis Turbo Coupe.
But if a BRZ with an STI motor would be kind of awesome.

No I'd like to see it happen, I just know that it won't be turbo (or if it is, it will be the 1.6L turbo). It definitely won't be any EJ series motor. Subaru has already moved away from it. Imprezas, Foresters, and Legacys that are turbo are all FA20DIT. Mine is already there in terms of performance, and likely all still under what the "STI" would cost. More varients, more parts for me. A win-win.

The STi Team are releasing a tS (Tuned STi) model. It's a mild tune and performance suspension setup. No factory turbo.

So the "sti" gets better brakes, badges, and a huge wing. As if 27k wasn't bad enough for 140rwtq, now its 41k

I've always stressed it to my friends that Toyota and Subaru should've made a TRD/STI version with AWD 2.0T. That would've replaced the all tracs. Lol.

There's an article somewhere (if I find it I'll post it) that specifies that it's the new Subaru BRZ tS version which was shown recently at a car show badged with STi everywhere as well as tS.
The upgrades are Bilstein struts, stiffer springs, Brembo brakes, Recaro seats and some other premium stuff. Nothing powertrain-related was mentioned.

I'll be honest. I LOVE my FRS but ****, for more money I'd get a 370z or something that'll move! WTF is Toyota/Subaru thinking!?!?! A turbo version would sell
If they could get a turbo version out for 30K or less I think it'd do well. Unless they figure most people are just going to turbo/swap it themselves, so why should they bother. Personally I rather have a factory turbo, than deal with an aftermarket ordeal.

Word.
I really doubt they can make it AWD, look where the engine block sits and look where the front wheels are.

You know I'm bit skeptic with that. I will not believe till I see it for sale on Subaru's web site
. I have heard somewhere there is some kind of deal between Toyota and Subaru about BRZ and GT86. There must be sold only one BRZ for 10 GT86s (or maybe even more). I forgot the number. The point is Toyota makes rules. Not Subaru. So why would be Subaru first who introduce turbocharged/supercharged model and not Toyota???
No more replicas... This is evolution... This isSS-four:)________[Featured Celica of 6gc.net @ 2010]_________
All I know is Subaru is making them, and Toyota is doing distribution where Subaru doesn't have a foothold. That may be the case in those scenarios, but over here Subaru is well established and how would they control what people decide to buy?

^ They can't, but then how many Subie dealers do you see vs. Toyota?

There are approx 6 frs at my local Toyota dealership and 0 at the Subaru dealership.
No matter whether Subaru wanted to sell more or not (and they do), they can't - they're contractually obligated to provide Toyota 3 cars for each one they get; the BRZ will always have less numbers sold than the 86/FR-S.
Has no more Celicas
There are quite a few more Toyota dealers over Subaru dealers, at least within my vicinity. Hell, as far as numbers go I'd say Toyota is up there with the domestic brands in dealers around here.

Just googled few phrases and here it is: http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=52&i=28149
Just the end of article: "Restricted supply means waiting lists for new buyers"
So you have choice... wait (till some Toyotas is sold) and some time later having your Subaru or just go to the next door dealership and buy 86 now that is stocked... Everyone say it is "the same car" so why would you do not do that?
Anyway... another interesting reading: http://www.motoring.com.au/news/2013/sport...the-radar-34735

Hmm... The only thing that makes me want the BRZ more is the Limited which has leather and alcantara interior.

Toyota owns Subaru. Look it up. At least a portion of it. As well as Toyota owns daihatsu, hino and others...

Renault owns Nissan, and Fiat owns Chrysler. BMW owns Rolls Royce, and Audi owns Lamborghini. What is the world coming to?
That's ok, the next Ford Mustang may be powered by a turbocharged I4. So who needs a turbo FR-S anyhow?
