Topic #902 32 posts Started by hioctane
who here has 7th rims on their celica?????
I dont understand why the rims from a 7th gen would fit on a 6th celica. can someone please explain to me?
the guy is selling his 16 alloy gts rims to me for about $300. is it really worth that much???
I dont want to get ripped off =)
with tires? i guess thats bout right.....how's the condition of the wheels? >confused.gif>
The bolt pattern on the 7th gen is the same as the 6th gen. The bolt pattern is 5x100.

Yeah, they will fit. Phat95 had them. I don't know about the prices though I know that rims from toyota will be very expensive.
the guy claims that the rims are in good condition with no dents or scratches. he has P205/50R16 All-Season SBR BSW Yokohama Tiresas tires on them with 30% thread left. I have like no more thread on my hubcap rims =)
when people say "curbed" in rim terms does that mean that the rims are dented???

THe link doesn't work, they do fit i dunno why but they do, since i have the 00+ GT wheels, i think 300 is a good price.
Gotta copy and paste into address bar.
................ so what do you guys think of the rims?

I think their good, not too flashy, much better than stock rims, and give the 6th gen a pretty good appearence, I was thinking about buying some.
when people sell their rims, do they usually give the buyer the lug nuts......????
The alloy's on mine were originally gen 7 factory fit alloys. I've had no problems in the year I've had them on and they fit just fine.

do you know where i can buy lug nuts??
I bet the Toyota dealer will have them. Places that sell alloy's and stuff might have them but they need to be the right type for the car.

you know when you park your car next to a curb. if you go to cloose it might scratch. so if you look at the rims you can see where the scratches are. like some of the paint came off or what not.
Will they change your speedo reading? I would hate to think I was going 50, and be going 70?
you just made the rim thing more complicated?????
Well does it change the speed if i switch rims?

99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =)
30% tread left?? >confused.gif> isn't that....well...not much left? lol
The speedo reading of a standard Celica is known to over-read by a small amount (say 5 - 6 %) eg: show 70 Mph when you're actualy doing 66 Mph . Most cars do this - they design them to over read rather than under read for safety reasons.
So I reckon that when you fit bigger wheels (which can cause slight under read by the same amount) your speedo will if anything be more accurate than ever because the over and under read will cancel each other out. >confused.gif>

are you sure it doesn't change the speedometer ? im serious about buying those gts rims
Neverstop, if the rims are scratch free and look clean, I maybe interested in them when your ready to sell them.
go to Miata.net they have a great tire size calculator.

If I'm not mistaken stock GT tires are 205/55/15. So if you go +1, 205/50/16 shouldn't change the overall diameter of the rim and tire and you will have accurate speedometer reading.
Toyota is a bitch when it comes to prices on rims. i had to buy a new rim for my car recently 450 for one rim, and the trd rims i want are 2k
I really don't like the look of TRD rims. I wanted some once, but I realized that it was becaust they were TRD. Buy a product, not a name. But hey, if they look good,
