So I noticed my fog light looks a bit off. Took them off and looked at them closer. They have some rock chips on them. I was thinking about taking it off and wet sand it starting from 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, and finish it off with 2500 or 3000 grit. What I need help is what kind of polish and uv sealant spray should I use afterwards? I just want to make sure I'm using the correct chemicals and not harm my fog lights too much.

My local auto parts store sells a headlight restoration kit for $25 (and our market is hugely overpriced compared to yours) which includes the UV sealant etc. I would check out to see what is available in your local places

I've used the turtle wax one and it was no good. The grit was too high that it couldn't remove the deep dents.

Is the $25 kit for glass? I haven't seen a glass polishing kit available in local stores, but I don't live in the kind of area where I would expect to find it. To my understanding, the glass polishing kits will take care of fine scratches but won't do anything for any pitting. Here, check this thread out, specifically the next to last post.

For the deep dents you use wet sanding paper, not wax. After all the wet sanding is when you start polishing.

I guess it'll be easiest to buy the sand papers and a light restoring kit. Since the kit should have the lubricant and polish and sealant.

Wet sand, polish, clear coat.

Best bet is buy new ones I think. I attempted it on one side. Starting from 320 grit and ending with 2500 grit. Used rubbing compound at the end. Results were ok. The deep rock chips were still there. So I just gave up and didn't do the other side.

There's no feasible way to remove the chips. Find a nice set without chips and use some headlight film to protect them.

You gave up way too easy. You start sanding until the rock chips are gone, then you go on with a higher number grit to remove the damage from the previous one. Try sanding in an opposite direction like ><><><, and then with a finer sand paper VAVAV or just XXXX motions.
Using rubbing compound by hand is very time consuming to get result, I would buy a pad or borrow from a friend and then you will be happy. Especially after a clear coat, it hides so many small imperfections and gives a nice finishing touch. And even, if you still have somewhat big damage from rocks it will look bad only when close up.

Yea I was using 320 grit for 15 min with minimal results so I just gave up and finished it off. Since its just fog lights I decided to leave them alone. Not like someone going to get on their knees do look at my fog lights. Lol. My car is low so it'll get chipped again eventually anyways.
