which is it? looks like driver to me, which i would consider the left front?

Its the passenger side.
The sidemarkers on USDM Celicas are infront of the tire (and rectangular) as opposed to behind the tire (and square) like on Euro/Jap models. That and you can see where it curves for the headlight
