got my exhaust installed today. I have a check engine light on. My 2nd 02 sensor is not installed yet. The one on the car has a bracket with two holes and the cat I have has a threaded hole for the sensor. Do they make one for the car that has threads? I found one at the parts store but it only has one wire. 95 st. 7afe

Being you have a 1995, try shoving a paper clip into the harness where the second O2 sensor plugs in. It works for many other things on OBDI cars, kind of curious if it'll work here as well.

The braket comes off ... If im understanding you right your old sensor on the car has the the bracket on it .... and your new ehuast dioes not ... if thats the case then just unscrew the bracket off and use the thread to screw directly into the Cat. If the other way then Bitter is correct you can buy the bracket even at a Auto store...

I did not know it would unscrew. I have to extend it about two foot so I'll take it off this weekend. I could have never done all this work without the help of all you guys on this site. Thank you!

OH, I got it backwards. I don't think they make an adapter to go from flange style to threaded. You'll need to get a threaded sensor (you can splice in a universal) and then use a spacer to set it back from the exhaust stream so it doesn't throw a code for the missing cat. I remember from your build thread that you have an ebay header which deletes the warmup catalyst. You must have a California emissions Celica? Does the stock exhaust manifold have a catalytic converter on it?

Some spark plug non foulers are the right thread, you just drill the end out larger, smaller or larger hole can act like a longer or shorter spacer.

okay question ???? does the O2 sensor you have , does it it have thread after the flange at the tip ??as if you could thread it now with the flange on??? if so then unscrew the flange....

He would need a flange that threads into the hole in the pipe, I don't think that exists.

What I am saying is I believe the flange on his existing o2 can screw off. then he would just have to screw it into the existing hole... hoping someone can confirm that

On the OBDI 7A-FE you have an one wire O2 sensor that's in the manifold, then a catalytic converter at the base of that manifold and downstream of that O2 sensor. Then you have some down-pipe and then you have a two wire O2 sensor then a little further there's a small catalytic converter that isn't monitored. If the first one is just a pre-cat why would it be monitored? Even on OBDII cars I've seen pre-cats not be monitored.

I don't think the flange comes off, I'm pretty sure it's part of the sensor body.

Not all 7A-FE have 2 cats, just the California emissions spec as far as I know.

Mine is the OBDI Fed spec and does. I know ones sold over in Europe have a tubular header of sorts with no pre-cat. Who knows, as if the cats are really holding back the 7A anyway.

Odd, I swore I've seen 7A's with and without pre-cat. I guess I'm wrong and thinking of Corolla and not Celica. Carry on...

The Corolla I believe didn't have the pre-cat on OBDI years, but for whatever reason the Celica did.

I checked today and I could not get it to unscrew looks like it is all one piece. the first one mounts on the header and the second needs to screw into the resonator/cat combo. as long as it has two wires can i just splice one in from another car?

if i had to assume I would say yea if its for a toyota but y cant you buy a universal

I think you can just splice in a universal thread in sensor as long as the wires are matched up correctly.

I'll pick up a universal this weekend and give it a try.
