picked up a set of 18s for a steal. the tires that came on em were 225 40 r18. now, im gonna need to get tires., so my question is.... would new 225 40 r18s fit under a celica without rubbing? or will i need to go 215 40 r18? thanks

225/40 would fit just fine. Do the wheels clear the fender?

thats how close it is even WITH the cambered tires still on em... don't get me wrong, i LOVE close tolerences...
but i figured i'd ask on here before i started ordering tires.
they were on a scion tc originally. seller was in need of cash, and one wheel had a little rash on it. nothing a little grinder action didn't help smooth out. but, for 140 dollars for the set, i couldn't NOT buy em... so now, by the time i get her all put back together, fixed, and straightened up, she'll have some shoes to go with her newly restored existence. (pretty sure ill ultimately go with spacers to flush the stance out, but im not trying to get TOO far ahead of myself... which is already too late... lol)

Depending on the width and offset they should fit. I have 18x8 +38 with 225/40/18 and the clear the strut, and have the SLIGHTEST rub on the rear non-rolled fender, on really large bumps. and slight rubbing on the front fender liner at full lock. No issues aside from those

im worried they're +35... how do i measure to be sure?

Jordisonjr is right. We can't tell you much unless you give us the full specs. Like rim width, size, and offset. Most importantly is how low do you want to go and are your fenders rolled.

That strut picture looks like it will be a very high offset, you will have to put a spacer or something on there just to drive it as it is by the looks of it. I'm running 225/40 on a 9" and 215/40 on an 8".

225/35/18 is a perfect match to the stock wheel diameter and circumference, so you won't have any issues with the speedometer being off.

Are you selling the stock wheels?
