Topic #89472 12 posts Started by Fuzzyfo
just a quick question, i've been on the prowl for some wheels for my 94 st for a while now. i found some 19 inchers five spoke wheels that some guy will part from them for $150. he had them on a bmw but sold the car. can our car handle 19 inch wheels? sorry i dont have a picture of them.
Well I know you need 35 sidewalls for 18" wheels, so you'd probably have to go with 25 sidewalls for a 19"

Yes, our celicas can handle 19's, but even with a body kit they look monsterous. BUT if they came off a bmw then there's a good chance they wont fit. i believe bimmers have a 5x120 bolt pattern. Our celicas have a 5x100 bolt pattern.

Yep, you are correct. Just googled it. It's a shame because the wheels looked nice, oh well maybe next time. Thanks for posting everyone

Do what you want, but from my experience the 7A really suffers with heavy wheels.

I'm pretty sure it does haha but I'm aiming for 17 inches so maybe I'll find something soon. My 7a corolla used to have
16 inch rims it felt heavy. The wheels were stupid heavy so I went back to oem 14 inch mr2 1st generation wheels.

I went from 17x7 shod in 225/45 to 15x6.5 with 185/65. The tire is not optimal and is a large downgrade in grip, but the car is lower and feels much better dynamically with lower wheel weight and rolling diameter. Technically, this is still an upgrade since factory specs are 14x6 and 185/70.

18's look great on our celicas too. I have a set on mine but I'm do for an UPGRADE
I'd go 18's on a gen 6 all day long if I had the capability without massive issues

They look best in my opinion I've had 5 different sets of alloys in the year that I've had mine and off all I've been happiest with the 18's.

Pics for comparison if any help

16's

17's

18's

18's are best if you mainly want show but apparently 17's are the best compromise between styling / handling although I preferred mine with 18's just didn't want the grief

Now I don't know what kinda cars you get over in the US but the majority of rims suitable for the Celica are Impreza wheels but you'll need spacers (they're ET52 over here) or anything from the VW Audi group (MK3 Golf Onwards until the MK5)
sr666, what kind of springs are you running?
