Ok my car which is severx13's old car I'm the new owner and he told me a lot of you guys can help me. when my car gets to 4 grand rpm my wastegate opens and not too long after it opens it falls on its face and blows black smoke out my wastage at 4500. it will not get any higher than 4500 rpm while driving in any gear. but in neutral it will goto 7000.please if you can help.

i need history on the car, build specs, engine management.

and your wastegate opens at a boost level, not a specific RPM. and 4000 is really bad for full boost. what turbo?

i have a t3/t4 50 ml. I'm new to turbos so i don't know a whole lot about them. i have an apexi monitor that might be messed up. i was told I'm getting to much fuel but i don't know how to tune it. it has stuck internals. it's pushing 11 pounds of boost by 4500 rpm and won't get any higher then 4500 because it's just blows black smoke out my wastegate and falls on its face even if i fether it at 4500 it just won't let me get any higher.
Most likely a stuck boost controller or soleniod controlling the boost if its not manually adjusted.
i don't have a boost controller on it right now but just bought one you think that will fix my.problem?
you are pushing 11psi on what engine? you need tuning not a boost controller.

Could also be fuel cut perhaps? IDK what ECU he's running so IDK what his stock fuel cut would be, whether he's equipped with a FCD or active MAP clamp etc.
Just a thought.

From my recollection this is a 5sfte?

you should have a boost controller unless wastegate is just 11psi.
Black smoke is usually fuel or oil. Could be blown turbo seals.

If you don't know much about cars / turbos I would advise taking it to a shop that knows what to do and can help you learn!
ok if you goto severx13's profile on YouTube there's a video of my car on the dino when it was running perfect. so it ran perfect at one time. but now there's something wrong. yes it is the 5sfte engine it has a tail wastegate that has a vacuum input on top of it with nothing attached to it. i read that is not that important but again I'm not sure. I'll try to get a video of what its doing today

Don't buy a boost controller. It will not fix anything.

5sfTe's are known to run very rich in the upper rpms. This is mostly due to the fact that your car has larger injectors (because of the turbo), but is still running on the stock ecu. To fix this you will need:
1. A wideband a/f ratio gauge.
2. some type of computer to help tune the fuel curve (your car probably has an apexi safc).

What you want to do is remove fuel from the HIGH corrections map in the safc, so that the wideband reads something in the mid 11 afr range (wide open throttle, at 4-6k rpm). If you don't know how to do this, or don't have a wideband, you will need to visit a dyno and have them figure it out for you. Either that or look around the internet and learn how to do it on your own.

Ok I'll give it a try thank you
i found a controller and turned it up a little. I'm pushing 13 pounds of boost now but it's still doing it
Alright so i turned the high throttle fuel down a little and it helped a lot. it's actually pulling while the wastegate is open. i just need to find someone that can tune it in my area
I'm curious as to how you know for certain that your wastegate is open.
