I'm wanting to upgrade my brakes. I don't want anything that's overkill, since my car will never see a track. Any suggestions?

That's right, just convert it to mechanical drums and free up some power.
But yeah, unless you're racing it a good set of Raybestos rotors and ceramic pads will do you good.

Really just pads will make the most noticeable difference. You can....or should resurface your old rotors with a new set of aggressive pads. If you dont feel like resurfacing, and want new rotors, EBC makes rotors for front and rear, and Brembo make blanks for the rear. Do you have disc brakes in the rear?

Im not sure what your price range is for this mod, but EBC pads alone for all four corners will be around $160 max if I remember their prices correctly.
Oh and also some stainless steel lines would be a good buy as well. those slipped my mind.
I dont see you needing slotted rotors or anything, and buying new blank faced rotors is essentially the same as resurfacing you original one. As long as your rotor's have enough life in them still, id just resurface and re-use. Depending on the shop you take it to, re-surfacing will run you around $30 a rotor

yea go with rock auto, they have awesome quality equipment, and you can get OEM slotted and drilled with pads for $250

Question about the ST205 brake upgrade. I have to buy the custom rotors off of culp or trim the the others down to size?

A set of calipers (f+r) alone usually goes for 550-650 iirc. Plus new pads and rotors, you're looking at close to $1000

For the calipers alone... I don't know about you but I've found the stock braking system pretty good especially with small (15 and 16") wheels and good tires.
I'd best spend $1000 in a set of performance brake pads and new rotors, braided lines, a fluid flush and some good, grippy tires.

Questions about the ebc greenstuff. Do they work ok when it's cold? How is wear and is the dust bad?

yeah they work very well in cold weather. I stand by all of EBC's products.
The wear is very low, they last a very long time. I had Green stuff in the rears for the past 3 years, the only issue I had was when my caliper seized up and burned up the pads.

Mr2 turbo calipers in the front. They are dual piston and make the braking feel alot more even / balanced. You can get reman ones at AutoZone or advanced auto. They bolt right onto the gt caliper brackets
If you're planning to upgrade calipers just get Avalon or Lexus ls300 calipers they are dual piston with a much larger over all diameter and much cheaper than mr2 calipers I got some from the junk yard 27 bucks bolted right into my car used my Celica brackets and pads just purchased the calipers

If this car will not see a track you dont need bigger calipars lol

Machine or get some plain rotors. No you dont need slotted. No you dont need drilled or dimpled. As you mentioned you will not see a track. You will be wasting your money.
What else you should do is bleed the brakes as well.
As well if this car will not see a track dont go and spend more money on race pads. Race pads have optimal working tempertures. You need to heat them up before they they bite well.
Do you research.

i think it's wise to get the avalon/es300 twin piston calipers because at this day n time all of our 6gc have 150,000 miles plus on the chassis. so why not upgrade to them by buying the rebuilt versions from online.
