I'm about to bite the bullet on some Megan Coilovers... - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #88988 17 posts Started by Syaoran
I'm getting a set of brand new Megan Coilovers for $940 shipped. They are the ones rated at 6kg/mm front and 4kg/mm rear (there's supposedly another set rated at 10kg/mm 8kg/mm respectively)

What are your thoughts on them? I live mostly around bad roads and I want to get away from Tein springs. They feel bumpy; like the shocks aren't up to the task. I know coilovers are stiff, but I'd rather have the peace of mind that I won't blow my shocks on the next pothole I am unable to evade. Plus I like the idea of adjusting the ride height (for car meets and daily driving and such)

So any of you that have used them before that can share your thoughts on them it'd be greatly appreciated.

This one is cheaper and it's also the one I have. I'd say it's a very good coilover system. You get to set your dampers settings and height which is a PLUS for me since I drive it as a DD. So whenever I want to lower and stiffen it up for a car meet. It doesn't take much work to do that. I'm pretty sure the majority of the 6gc members will recommend these coilovers.

I loved mines when I had my Celica. It made the Celica a better looking car with its lowered stance. Best money spent at that point laugh.gif
Thanks for you input, block!

Stupid seller had them on backorder and accepted my purchase to just refund my money and waste my time... back on the hunt for a new set.

What about D2 RS's? I made an offer on a set on eBay for $900. Thy have rear camber adjustability too.

Went through wth another purchase, seller told me they were in stock and as soon as I send the money, oops they're out of stock. Fought over for a refund, and now they're supposedly out of stock until the end of the month.

D2 RS are good, but I was hoping to get Megan or BC because of the softer spring rates.
