ST to GT - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #8897 9 posts Started by celimanST
How hard is it to convert a ST to GT??? What would be the average cost??? I know converting it to 3S-GTE would be better but for financil reasons I can't. Income tax refunds are coming so if its not to expensive I think I may be able to do this conversion.

bout 3k when its all said and done. You will have to do all the same things as a 3sgte swap.

i say just use your tax return to put a down on a GT then sell the set and pay of the gt.. alot simpler..

there is always a 4a engine swap >wink.gif>

although they havn't met with the best of luck...
I'd avoid swapping an engine if at all possible. In this case, it is. Sell the ST and get a GT. There is no point in spending a lot of time and money on something that could be accomplished in weeks rather than months.
For the $3k, you could just buy a GT in good condition. I did. Cost me $3,200; high miles but excelent running condition.
St -> 3SGTE swap is easy.. only requires the drilling of 3 new holes in the frame. You will have to buy a lot of parts that you would not need to buy if you had a GT already... but depending on your situation with your car, this may be ideal..

and if you get all refurbished stuff - you'll basically have a full rebuilt drive train - pretty slick if you ask me... coming from someone who has done a ST -> 3SGTE swap
