lookin for a used starter. i have a 96 5spd st. i keep finding 1.2kw and 1.4kw starters. which one do i need ? thanks

5SFE engine lists a 1.4KW starter, 28011‑74070

Blink -- Looked at that several times, somehow kept skipping over the ST part.

What's wrong with your starter? They're often cheaper to rebuild than to replace, especially if the problem is the usual issue of worn contacts causing an intermittent single-click non-start. Those cost about $10 and a few minutes to swap.

They're interchangeable. Get whichever, I suggest the higher power one.
