DIY: Adjust height & Preload coilovers - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #88690 7 posts Started by ILoveMySilly97
So I'm new to coilovers and I've been searching around for a forum on 6gc to help us who's new to coilovers. I didn't know we had to preload them until a friend told me. I was clueless. But yea. Just wanted to share this video. It does a good job explaining how to preload and adjust the heights. He also explains which locking nut to spin to adjust height and adjust preload. I'm anxious for my Megans to come in already. XD

This is directly from the Megan website that I'm going to be following for my Megan coilover. smile.gif

Well I learned something new today, at least I don't need to worry about the preload on mine at all biggrin.gif
i would never mess with the preload, you'll end up blowning them up
I have rally coilovers...it's setup differently

well you can adjust them, but what alot of people who drift in my area that have megan/stance/godspeed ect recommend not to mess because if they are off,it will put stress on that one side.I just perfer that peice of mind knowing the preload is set biggrin.gif .
Don't you want a bit of preload if running low setups? Less movement... The dial for shock stiffness is only for the initial shock, not how far the wheel travels. More preload will reduce movement and is good for high speed cornering right?
