Do you guys change the internals or leave it stock ?

=(
i left the internals stock , but i rebuilt the motor just in case.

Later on, i'll rebuild it again with upgraded internals.
stock for now
I am thinking of the 3s swap and need to compare the pos and neg advantages of the 2nd vs 3rd gen engine.
I know parts and the install info for the 2nd gen are a little easier to find.
I was wondering if you 3rd gen swapers have any trouble using the lower octane fuel here in the US compared to the better fuel the cars are made for in Japan?
Can you run 94 octane and is everything ok? or do you use super blue or additives to make the car run better? Anything at all????? I was reading up on some swaps and i was getting the vibe that the 3rd gen is a P.I.A., I might not want to go with an engine that is going to need more special treatment than my girlfriend .... if you know what i am saying (she might get jelous >biggrin.gif> )!!!!!
I was looking to get some feedback from you guys b4 i decide if the advantage of the 3rd gen is worth the trouble for the extra 20 hp it will give me right off the bat?

Any comments from the two different engine swapers will help me decide!
Thanks a lot,
DG

I'm running a 2nd gen. and using 91 octane. So far, everything seems to be fine. No problems at all.
Thats true.... i forgot all about the rating difference. I think they do have a higher (top grade fuel) than the US though! Not sure how much better it is but i am pretty sure they do. But just to be on the safe side b4 i go and get a clip, i would like to know what gas everyone is running and how the results have been since the swap.
Isn't the main difference between the US spec and Jap spec clips because of the higher end computer ecu?? I though they had a better ecu program because their fuel could support the better performance curve??????? This is just my theory though! I could be completely wrong.... that is why i am asking for you swappers to give me some advice on this one!!!!!
Thanks again,
dg
About the 3rd gen 3sgte because i want to do the swap and I was having trouble debating over the 2nd gen or the 3rd gen and well talking to someone he said that if you just switch to a stand alone ECU then the fuel problem will be eliminated. Only problem is 2000 for a stand alone and tuning. Hopefully im right but if not tell me.
