How to remove the bolt off the lower control arm? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #88030 10 posts Started by dangqiwu
Hi guys, I got a used lower control arm but the bolt connected to the stabilizer link is rusted.
I used PB blaster but no help so far.
Any suggestion to take it off?
Thank you guys.

I'd try to grab between the nut and the mount with a pair of vice grips to hold the bolt still while taking a ratchet to the nut. If that doesn't work, time to get a grinder or torch out.

correct. At the point you're at I would just use a cut off wheel on my grinder.

Nope. An impact gun would just spin it, it's spherical.

saws all or a grinder will take it right off. That's what I had to do with one of my rear ones.

I've used impact guns to take off and put on endlinks enough times. Did it on my Mazda and did it on my 6GC.

Cut it, as stated.
Easiest, least time consuming method, especially if you don't need it.

You're right. I bring it to a mechanician and he did so.
