coilover cut my axle boot. how to fix it? - 6G Celicas Forums

i didnt realized that the coils was rubbing my axle boot and it cut it. it only happened on the passenger side.
can i grind the coil or i it will get damaged? rasing the car i the last option.
you need less of the moar lower I think. frown.gif

Shorter shock cartridge. BC can special order their 'extreme low' kit, I think they have a 6GC application. It's got shorter cartridges, you can slam so low you'll bind ball joints and ruin axles faster than you can replace them.

Maybe put some kind of rubber insulator around the sleeve so if they rub the sleeve doesn't slash through the boot when at speed.

When i set my coils i made sure i had a fingers gap for this reason. And i still rub on everything. Cant imagine that ride.
typically you should have a 1" gap between the bottom of the coilover, and the boot, when jacked up, to know you have clearance when the car is back on the ground it would get a lil closer.

Had mine on the rack and made sure nothing was hitting. If you look at pictures of my car and then his theres a noticeable(understatement) drop difference.
